5.3 ypc for a rookie is pretty ambitious.

Fair if you think losing cooks is big.

looking at it casually, I could see where an outsider might make that call. But I'd say he's wrong...

Cooks was a mirage, fool's gold. No offense to the guy.
He's a glorified Devery Henderson, who was basically a role player in the Brees/Payton scheme. Henderson had less yards than Cooks, but at the time, we had a healthy and prime Colston. Cooks didn't play alongside that. But now, I think Thomas takes the Colston role, and the deep route guy (whoever that ends up being) will get less looks. If it was still Cooks, I would expect his numbers to drop off too. Thomas will get more, and the backs will get more runs and screens.

Cooks went the wrong team for him, I think he'd have fit the Raiders much better.

was gonna assume he has 2-3 big runs (50+ yarders) that skews it since he only has like 80 carries

last year:
Jalen Richard: 83 carries, 5.9 YPC
DeAndre Washington: 87 carries, 5.4 YPC

it can happen right? lol

Martavis Bryant was suspended all season, Bell the first 3 games, and Ladarius Green missed most of the year.

I don't think you have a good feel for Cooks skills. The guy is not just a deep threat. He's actually a fricking amazing route runner. It's one of the reasons I wanted to draft him even coming out. Cooks' biggest weakness is his lack of physicality at the catch point.... probably won't work out if you're trying to throw into tight windows with him, but if he has space he's really fricking good. Super elusive and obviously fast, he can run himself open with speed or technique.

I think NE is a great fit for him. They are the only offense besides ours that really utilizes role players perfectly, maybe even more so.

No. Not until he was coached up by the Saints staff!

You realize he ranked them by who he thought had the best offense.. not who would rack up the most yards. If I recall the saints D was bad last year and Brees, as usual, was having to air it out often at the end of games. You realize that having a better Defense(like NE or Atlanta) would lead to have less yards to do the fact that they could put away games early. So I think its fair to put these teams above the saints as they are more efficient.

But congrats on the most yards!!!

That's such a tired excuse. The saints have been tops in offense for the better part of 10 years and every year people say that bullshite to discredit them.
