If tweet fails to load, click here. Dude was clearly moving forward and gaining yardage. I don’t get it
I hear a whistle in this clip before he catches the ball so is that even synced ? I don’t remember a whistle prior to the hit

Ah shite that’s my bad, wasn’t seeing it correctly

Nothing matters but when was the whistle blown.

I agree, if forward progress ruled stopped the whistle needs to be blown or it’s live

Where is the fine for the ref that didn't whistle the play dead?

If the whistle wasn’t blown what the hell is he supposed to do?

Right and it should’ve been a fumble

I forsee that getting appealed. Players are taught to go whistle to whistle.

If Smith had somehow spun out of the grasp of the tacklers before Byrd hit him and scored it would be highlight # 1 on Sports Center. No whistle runner is fair game, just cannot target and should be no fine.

Ok NFL. Now show me the TH injury on video. I am just a bit curious. The NFL selectively fines and ignores.

I was listening on the radio and in real time Deuce said that the officials were late to blow the whistle

Forward progress was stopped, but at the same time he was still fighting to avoid the tackle. Was Boyd supposed to just stand there and see if he gets free before hitting him? If the ruling was he is supposed to be down due to forward progress stopped, the officials blew it by not whistling him down. They do it when you see RBs get stacked at the line and driven backwards. And there are no fines if other players jump onto the pile before the whistle, but the optics don't look good because a big guy hit a smaller guy and the smaller guy didn't have his helmet strapped correctly

Already said I wasn’t seeing it correctly because a DT came in from behind and the angle of the video
Now you want to dispute he’s trying to fight off the tackle?

BUT, the whistle hadn't blown and he was still fighting trying to get loose.
If, at that stage you don't want to get hit, get your a$$ DOWN!

He needs to appeal, if the whistle didn’t blow he shoujd be ok. And they didn’t throw a flag. Sounds like Goodell shoujd be fining the refs for blowing it.

Seems impossible.
You see the positioning of the defense. You see the direction of the ball coming to the WR. You know where defensive lineman are relative to the WRs and you can see a bunch of OL too.
