National Media Jumping On New Orleans Saints Bandwagon

National media are suddenly jumping on the "New Orleans Saints bandwagon" for the 2022 regular season.
Please make no mistake about what I am about to write. The national media aren't lovers of the New Orleans Saints. Pundits drool for fan-popular brands in the Cowboys, Packers, Buccaneers, Broncos, or 49ers and can sometimes be biased.
Although, the winds of change are being felt, and the Saints may be the new flavor of the moment for Vegas and the national press corps, the team will garner more attention after Week 1.
SOLOMON WILCOTS ON THE SAINTS
Last week, Bob Rose and I interviewed SiriusXM's Opening Drive host Solomon Wilcots. "I really do believe the best team in the NFC, top to bottom, I think is the New Orleans Saints," Wilcots said. "I have questions at the quarterback position. But when it comes to the offense as a whole, the addition of Chris Olave with Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara coming out of the backfield, and a top-ten defense across every metric. Those measurables always lead to wins."
PETER KING'S PREDICTION
Disclaimer: Peter King hasn't always been a proponent of the Saints, especially starting quarterback Jameis Winston.
Recently, King released his AFC and NFC top-seeds projections. Who is his No. 1-seed in the NFC? You guessed it, the New Orleans Saints.
I thought it was odd to see him in the press box at the Saints vs. Texans preseason game and his postgame interviews with veteran players outside the locker room, but now it makes sense.
Perhaps King was there because of what he witnessed in training camp and the New Orleans Saints preseason games with Winston and Dalton running the first-team offense.
NFL Insider Ian Rapoport spoke to the Pat McAfee Show of the noticeable difference in the atmosphere at Saints headquarters in Metairie, LA.
Was it Payton's departure, Dennis Allen's new leadership, or a combination of both that has players focused without the politics and psychological warfare that existed in Payton's reign?
On the other hand, the national praise extended to other media outlets:

Regardless of the praise heaped on the Saints, Dennis Allen, Jameis Winston, Pete Carmichael, and the New Orleans look to make a statement on Sunday in Atlanta.
The barriers to winning aren't dictated by reporting; it's by the men who coach and play the game.
Talent is abundant on the team — offense and defense. Despite the average age of 26.8, it doesn't mean this Saints squad is old and decrepit. It means they are seasoned veterans, which helps a new head coach in this situation.
The goal is to return the Lombardi Trophy to the Crescent City after a 12-year hiatus. Whether or not the national perspective on this Saints team is fair, revving up the bandwagons may become the theme once the football resumes in New Orleans on Sept. 11.

This is the most excited I have been for a Saints season in a LONG time. I think we have a perfect storm brewing. I think QB1 and QB2 can both lead us deep into the playoffs, and once you get there you have to have lady luck on your side.

Yes. I feel that if we don't get decimated again with injuries our chances of getting into the post season are good with the talent on this roster. Anything can happen between now and then.

The Saints were 4-2 last year when Winston went down (5-2 after the TB game). Ultimately, they finished 9-8 with a collections of, at best, 3rd string QBs, and arguably the worst WR group in the league. Had Winston not been hurt it is not unreasonable to think the Saints would have won 10, 11, 12 games last year.
Payton is gone, but the same DC is back. The same "OC" who has been there for over a decade is back, as well as most of the key players. The Saints also addressed their worst position group (WR) in a big way. The NFC really has the Rams at the top and no consensus whatsoever as to the #2 team. The Saints are in the group vying for that spot.

Saints 100% healthy should win the division.
If Winston has a 2-1 TD/Int ratio the Saints easily make the playoffs. If it is 3-1 then I think they can win it all

They had a dumb arse article about it for click bait purposes awhile back. It intrigued me an I clicked, so I'm part of the problem.
But to answer your question, no it's not old. Saints were 3rd or 5th oldest team at 26.8, oldest was 30. The youngest team was 25.

And he'll be suspended sometime after Kamara is suspended. Plus, the big difference here is I have not heard anything about video evidence. So, right now you have a situation where it's Maye's word vs the people in the other car.
I am fairly certain he did what he's being accused of doing, but it needs to be proven in court beyond reasonable doubt. The league needs to see the legal process play out to get all of the facts so they can make a decision about suspension/fine and for how long/much.

The NFL has a security/investigative detail that will get more information about this situation than the Kenner PD (Or JPSO, not sure which LEO is handling) will. They also won't be fully restrained by the various rules of evidence or police protocol.

This is true. Maybe saying to get all of the facts is the wrong statement. They are most likely only worried about what facts become public, because we've seen too many times the only thing the league cares about is the public image. There could be a video showing what has come out to be actual fact, but that video doesn't go public and charges get dropped he's probably facing a $50k fine. Video goes public, lets suspend him 4/6 games

If anything, I would consider that the sweet spot for some sort of peak age/experience/strength/speed ratio. Your physical strength typical peaks by about age 26-30 and plateaus to just about age 40. As your speed/quickness begins to decline early 30's. This would tend to put your overall peak about age 30.

I also just watched normally-shite-for-brains Pete Prisco rank the Saints 6th overall, ahead of #7, the Bucs.
PFF also just posted a Top Teams video, and while the Saints were an honorable mention, they stated the Saints have the most talented "championship" roster in the league; the only question was Winston.

If Winston is a Top 12 QB this year, we going deep into the playoffs.
This offense is reflective of Sean's earlier offenses. Lots of weapons.

Average age of the last 15 Super bowl winning teams is 27.3.
Worried about our depth already now having lost Penning and traded away CGJ then having Marcus Maye assault teenage girls. Kamara, etc.
A lot going against us already, but I believe.
