I don't know if it's just me getting older and being more busy with work and family, the bullshite of the NFC championship game, or just not caring anymore but I cannot get excited for this season. I didn't even realize rookies reported this week until I opened nola.com

My Sundays used to be nothing but nfl.. Until the bountygate saga. Then it was just the saints going to the games watching etc. But now I find myself not even wanting to do that after seeing how rigged this shite is (again) .

So this is out of the way "dear Facebook"

I swore off ever spending another penny on the NFL after that game

Now, I'm planning on going to as many home games as possible

ETA: I tried getting season tickets but my good friend, neck, told me to frick right off

baw I tried, I was logged into my account hitting refresh when it was my turn to add tickets. There was like a 99.99% renewal rate

We’re in the final years of the greatest quarterback we are ever going to see leading the Saints. We have youth, talent, and depth at so many positions for the first time in years, on top of veteran leadership at key positions. It still hurts for me too, but you’ve got to enjoy the ride.

I ignored it for a long time. Haven’t thought about it.

But now that football season is coming back, I’m starting to think about it again and it’s still affecting my level of excitement for the NFL.

For me, it’s less about the no-call and more about the NFL’s reaction to it. I mean, the officials suffered NO ramifications for it at all. Effectively, nothing has happened.

I used to be more excited about watching the whole NFL. But I’m going to be watching a lot less this fall, outside of the Saints.

I keep seeing people post this, but what did you expect? I could have told you when walking out of the Dome that afternoon that the NFL was never going to admit that the Rams didn't deserve to be in the Super Bowl. The NFL admitted that it should have been pass interference and changed the rules so that coaches can challenge.

Pelicans have filled that void brother, hopefully though with reports/videos from TC, the fire will be stoked again.

It forever took the emotion out of games for me.

We got a super bowl stolen from us. I have no doubt in my mind we go in there and beat the Patriots.

It's just a game now like lsu football became after 21-0

All you can do is try to enjoy the games.
There's a long, long season there for you to build back up that excitement.
You don't need to be pissing black and gold for the preseason.

I expected that the ref involved would be suspended or demoted.

We all make mistakes, but big mistakes on the highest stage demand punitive action.

Still can't challenge in the last 2 minutes of the game though. Effectively nothing has changed to prevent exactly what happened to the Saints last season.

Even Mick Jagger brought it up the other night, it's a big flipping deal! The Saints got hosed, one of the worst ever in the history of sport! NEVERTHELESS, after how the last two seasons have ended and where the Super Bowl is this year...it just HAS to happen this year, it HAS to!

its so cute that you actually still believe its up to the players or the teams after last year

you are the type who buy ocean front property in kansas sight unseen

its rigged ahead of time just like wrestling, its entertainment, its not a game, its all predetermined except a few meaningless games during the season because they dont matter

if we get to the SB this year its only because roger allows it to happen

Same here, homefield in the playoffs will never happen again for this group of players. I just cant see another better opportunity to get to the SB ever presenting itself.
