More proud of Brees today, then I would be with another Super Bowl

Stand for the flag, don’t disrespect this country or the men and women who’ve bled and died for every right we have

Brees response was honest and sincere, and if he wants to suit up or retire now, makes me no difference, that’s MY QUARTERBACK

He’s done countless things for the city of New Orleans - most recently donating $5 million to covid relief efforts - most of whom affected are the black community in NOLA

MT13, crying baby back beach as usual - he should thank brees everyday for that $100 mil paycheck he got - HOW MUCH YOU MAKE IF KAPERNICK WAS THROWING YOU THE BALL

Jenkins acting like a bum, can go back to Philly, he literally said Brees can’t accept people having a different view of what the flag represents - and Jenkins is literally the one chastising Brees views and intolerant of a differing opinion

Lebron can stfu - he’s no Kobe, and certainly no MJ, just a loud mouth celebrity who is stoking this fire

Baldwin took a shot at drew Brees family and his parenting skills, saying how he was raising them is part of the problem - Baldwin is nothing but a thug POS and his response targeting Brees family speaks to the nature of himself along with the looters and rioters - a black thug (culcha you know what)

Proud of Drew Brees!

Same. I’ll watch the saints games with him at qb. When he retires I’m out. Not a political statement but I just don’t like the team/NFL anymore

He is getting slammed. Now lets see if he backtracks (they will smell blood and go out of their way to ruin him) or if he goes out on his shield like Mel Gibson (and remains eternally great and successful)

I think he will backtrack or get in trouble for daring to remember life before 2014. But we will see.

I missed all of these responses. I don't have Twitter, is there a thread to read?

I’m proud of him too but also puzzled like another poster said that he wouldn’t better recognize the climate and just refuse any in depth interviews right now.

Tommy Brady would never give an interview in a time like this.

No matter what you think of his stance on the subject, it’s goddamned refreshing to hear someone stand up for their beliefs even though it may fly in the face of trending opinion and fricking disgusting hashtag and cancel culture. Everyone needs to remember free speech is only accepted in this country if you are in lockstep with the progressive opinions and movements.

Thomas shouldn’t slap the hands that feed him. Brees has done more for blacks in NOLA than any black person has.

I’d rather keep Brees and go 0-16 than for him to go and we go 19-0

just hopefully Brees doesn't bow down to the hate because they will be threatening him. they'll threaten his future gigs, etc. if he doesn't come out and apologize/bow down to their hate filled agenda.

Agree 100%, I’m proud of Brees regardless, it’ll be interesting to see how the locker room gets. Not sure how vocal Winston is about any of this. Be awesome if he came out and backed Brees too

Pretty sure those people bled & died so that we could choose whether to stand or kneel.

Thats your opinion, there is no set standard that we have to abide by for the anthem, just a tradition people started

I say boycott the NFL. If we would all stick together they would have nothing.
