Again, I'd have to take Friday off of work just for this board

In other words, if there is not a QB they like in the top 10, they could for sure draft a different position.

We don't do that here

Misleading wording. He meant trading up into the back half of the 1st round to get another 1st round pick, to draft a QB

My god is this the year to do it or what. Absolutely the worst draft in NFL history at the top.

Trade back to 22 or 25, pick up an additional second round pick.

But that wont happen.

Oh, we definitely do that here

But seriously, if there is a QB they like as a late 1st or 2nd; I do like the idea of trading into the bottom of the 1st to grab him for that controlled 5th year salary

On the flip side, if this is true, why would someone want to move up

This is going to be one of the most “Saints things” ever if we finally take a QB in the 1st round in one of the weakest QB classes in years.

A fair question.

9 is an interesting position because there is going to be a player someone down the board covets at 9 and hopefully we can benefit from that, but you may be right nobody wants to burn a second round pick for whats available.

But most of this board criticized my mocks that had us doing this to pick Jaxson

Would have been nice to be picking top 5. But thank goodness we went all out to beat the giants!

This would be a new strategy if the Saints are leaking their draft plans for everybody to know.

They let everyone they could know that they wanted Mahomes

Payton also let everyone know they were trading up for Marcus Davenport on the days leading up to the draft. He told multiple people on a golf course which is how I found out and posted about it on here before it happened.

Yeah at nine a team can pick the no1 safety, lber, DT, guard and maybe TE or WR.
It may be a good spot to trade up for a need.
