Pre-Draft Analysis
Matavao led the Bruins with 41 catches and 506 receiving yards in 2024. He's a smooth route runner who is quicker than fast and gets to his spots. He can separate with size and strength at the top of routes. He squares to the quarterback and boxes out defenders. Matavao catches passes in traffic over the middle. He gets north-south and breaks tackles after the catch. He's strong enough to cover defenders in space and develop into an effective in-line blocker. -- Steve Muench

Seems solid not special but with our TE room certainly has a chance to make the team and for a 7th that's all you can really ask

I like him. Not just a receiver, a willing blocker. Not great but solid.

George Kittle’s scouting report said he was an “average backup or special teamer.”

Let me have hope

Is that just the auto response to any 7th round pick?

I know nothing about him, but doesn't seem like a bad 7th rd pick.

6'6, 260lb TE, was UCLA's leading receiver in 2024. Runs 4.8 at that size.

Brugler had him projected as a 5th rounder, for what that is worth.
