Our fans have got to chill with the Michael Thomas hate. It’s one thing to say he’s injury-prone (and that’s probably fair), but to say he’s not a competitor and is purposely holding himself out is ludicrous. Many of our players have said that Mike is the most competitive player on the entire team.

Alvin wasn’t the only player that spoke up for Mike. Cam Jordan, Olave and others have echoed similar sentiments. We really have some of the worst fans around.

And for the billionth time, we aren’t and can’t trade Michael Thomas.

According to my Googles research and calculations, Thomas was paid $987,500 per catch this season. That’s why people are mad, rationally or not

All fans, especially on message boards, are like this. This isn't just a Saints thing

MT has never showed he didn't care when in the game, never given an interview acting like he didn't care. As I said in another thread, it sucks he got hurt, the injury is definitely worse than it sounds. Hopefully he heals up and can come back strong next season. Saying that, glad we have Olave for the future.

According to my research,
Terron Armstead affects 12.7mil of our cap without playing a single snap

Drew Brees affects 11.5mil of our cap while retired.

Malcolm Jenkins affects 3.95mil of our cap while retired.

See how stupid that is?

Were they lamenting him being underpaid? First 3 seasons he was paid $?12,801.76 per catch.

Football, like most sports, pays people based on past performance risking that will be repeatable.

What is the appropriate rate to pay a receiver per catch?

For his career at the Saints, he is earning ?$124,253.69 per catch.

In the first 3 games of the season a not fully healed Thomas had 16 rec. and 3 tds. It is more than likely that MT got the 2nd injury from favoring that current injury. People who are highly motivated like him and Brady and Brees don't have issues with quitting and sitting on their arse, they have issues with NOT knowing when to quit.

That is a huge stretch. He has 2 years to heal and I have a hard time believing he was favoring a toe because of a previous ankle injury.

Did you expect any of them to say otherwise?

I think we have the worst medical staff around.
Probably a more accurate statement.

MT doesn’t deserve the benefit of the doubt. He has proven time after time that he’s a selfish player. What’s the excuse for waiting to have surgery last year?

One time and this fricking board acts like a bunch of petulant children about it.

If you had an option to rehab and not get surgery, would you? I would.

Our medical staff is absolutely terrible. They treat everyone like the boy in the plastic bubble, not letting them play through anything. Same with the Pelicans.

Need to clean house and get a less cautious staff.
