True

also, maybe he's being advised not to do certain things which may or May not be the best advice.

Now I’m also not getting paid to make the choice, cboy. Not working out is a huge red flag that he is hiding something.

But his tape is really good and it’s undeniable he gave the business to several high caliber p4 schools, consistently.

i think its extremely clear he's an outlier as far as measurables are concerned. Every NFL team can do with what they want with that knowledge. but we have trey hendrickson who has 74.5 sacks in 87 games or whatever and has 5% arms. Style of play, heart, relentlessness, etc all go into success at the next level. Bain plays with power in another league than what trey does.

Based on what, exactly?

He was also 6-4, 266 and ran a 4.65/1.59 with a 33.5" vertical and 10-2 broad.

Had Bain done similarly, it would help him. The fact he didn't implies he would be worse than TH in testing.

I was told when he was drafted how huge of a bust Hendrickson was going to be. xD

Good shout.

I'm neither for nor against Bain, and while measurables do matter he is still within a reasonable range of actual players and not some super outlier with shorter arms than anyone. He has good production. He has good tape. He alledgedly has a good attitude and work ethic.

You have to piece all the info together and decide if he is your guy or not.

Trey Hendrickson was a 3rd rd pick. That’s kinda the point.

It’s hard to buy-in on outliers even when they do all the workouts.

Investing a high pick in an outlier that won’t workout gets people fired if it misses

We’re at the point of the draft process where SFP hates most prospects.

Yes he (Bain) just seems to much a gamble to take at 8 for the saints. However I do somewhat trust this staff (especially after last years draft) to know what they are doing so if they do draft Bain I would think they really did their homework on him and probably know what they are doing. If the previous staff were still here and drafted him at 8 I would probably lose my shite over it.

Saying there is a lack of elite talent, especially at valuable positions, is pretty accepted about this draft.

Maybe not elite but I’ve not seen a reputable draft analyst say it’s a bad class by any means with lots of depth.

Trading down is fine in theory but if what you say is true, there’s likely not going to be a ton of people willing to trade up and spend resources - that’s not even factoring in that this org just doesn’t operate that way. You’re asking for outlier draft processes in an outlier draft.

So I guess my point is that you should go ahead and draft up some melt posts.

Who cares how fast a player is ,the question is does he have FOOTBALL instincts. All this dog and pony show means nothing if he can’t grasp and learn the system and be in position he needs to be in.Jim Mora loved athletes ,Alex Molden, Marke Fields, etc who could run like hell but couldn’t play football.
