McCoy has a calf injury. Sounds like he is going to be out for a little while.

Not sure how long a little while is but it doesn’t sound like he will be playing for at least a couple weeks.

It was reported as a calf strain. Not really an injury that sidelines a player long term.

Not the worse news

Also:

Could be out as much as a month if its a strain.

They could put him on the 3 game IR, let him heal through the bye week of necessary.

Here's a question: If they keep Ruiz at Center and he plays exceptionally well during that time at Center...do you consider keeping Ruiz there and transitioning McCoy to Guard instead?

that should have been an offseason move. Bewilders me why it wasn't done already. Either way, i'm glad Ruiz has had a great offseason and is playing well wherever.

So Ruiz has apparently been crushing it at guard in camp. He also looked great in the snaps we saw this week and preseason. McCoy has been great at center. With Ruiz improving so much at guard I doubt they would make the swap unless there was an injury.

Sounds like a depth signing in case Ruiz gets hurt before McCoy is back. Dont see them taking out Throckmorton for a free agent, he played pretty well.

wait... how on Earth is a guy that started both of the last 2 Super Bowls (1 a win) still a free agent a week into the regular season?

according to some of the Chiefs fans comments from Pelissero's tweet, he's not that good

Possible, but I trust our oline coaches more than the chiefs. Super Bowl was a disaster for them.

Calf is a tough one. Easy to re-injure if not fully healed

No big deal. He will be back in a month. Throw him on IR and let Ruiz get some run at center. Throckmorton looked damn solid out there at RG. You could tell this was an injury he already had before the game. His leg was braced heavily if I remember. We will be just fine.

The 3 week IR makes roster management so much freaking easier. Why it took this long to do it is insane.

Is there a limit to how many players you bring off IR anymore?

This is why I hope McCoy isn't rushed back. Gonna need a healthy O-Line down the stretch.

I really believe that was the original plan.
They didn't do it this off season so I'd put mccoy back at center.

I honestly think they need to switch. Mccoy would be such a good guard.
