The Saints don't have the medical staff to get him all the way healthy.

Drew Brees picked and used his own doctors.

RTWF Bama.

That said, I like Tua as a person. He isn't worth a 1st to me if he can't stay healthy.

He's Andrew Luck before the NFL. I just don't see him staying healthy.

Taysom Hill was Mr. Glass in college but now he's playing multiple positions and running people over on offense and slamming full speed into guys on special teams. Weird things happen to people, never know.

Burrow is extremely accurate from anywhere on the field. Short, mid range or deep ball. But I shouldn’t have to tell you that because I am sure you have watched him this year.

And btw Burrow is more accurate than Tua on the deep ball.. Burrow actually has a higher completion percentage with passes over 20 yds.

The Tua situation is intriguing. I'm leery of whether he can come all the way back, that hip thing is bad.

If you could guarantee he would, he's definitely worth a first.

I don't care about the "injury-prone" bit; in the NFL today, a pocket QB doesn't get hit a lot. If he doesn't scramble, the refs throw a flag on anything more than a stern look by defenders.

I’ve never thought Tua was a great QB and don’t really get the hype.

But with his injury history, I wouldn’t touch him before the 3rd round. He won’t make it a month in the NFL.

You're joking, right? His release is exceptionally fast; pocket presence is above average; ability to run when needed is above average; and is deadly accurate. What's not to like? Look, I get most of you are LSU fans, but don't get clouded by emotion and mention Tua isn't that great of a QB. Burrow has been exceptional this season, but as all of us NFL fans know--one great college season doesn't necessarily equate to guaranteed success in the NFL. Do I think Burrow will be a good/great NFL starter? ABSOLUTELY. He has shown everything you want from a QB prospect. However, don't go bashing a former Heisman finalist, who was once regarded as a top 5 pick, simply because you have a biased opinion against his school's football program.

P.S. I am not a Bama fan, as evidenced by my username.

I do question this though. People have said this and I just don’t see it. What part of Joe’s game looks like a weakness to you or like it won’t translate?

Biggest "weakness" as far as prospect analysis goes, would probably be small sample size. Burrow has played at an incredibly high level all year, but the NFL coaches are without a doubt going to look at the 2018 tape. That being said, I still think he goes top 2.

Neither have ideal size

So both must be great.

I read somewhere that we draft Jalen Hurts at 30... lol

Wouldn’t mind him at 32 though!

I mean they could be bullshitting but I’ve seen it reported the docs are saying they expect a full recovery and him to be able to throw by the spring.

So let’s draft a qb that has has 3 serious injuries in 2 years. Perfect!

Not that I have a big problem with it, but, a lot of folks would love to have Teddy Bridgewater as our post Brees QB and his knee was literally hanging on by a thread

He's had one serious injury. Kid has never been out for longer than two weeks, and prior to the hip injury has missed 1 start at alabama since being named the starter. He's had mild injuries that he's played through and played well for the most part. He picked LSU apart last year and had a 45 yard TD run on a bad knee. Picked Oklahoma apart in a playoff game coming off tightrope surgery, and 2 weeks ago passed for 400+ and 4 TDs on LSU coming off tightrope surgery

Teddy Bridgewater got his kneecap rearranged and he's done okay in black and gold.

Tua won't be available when the saints pick unless they trade up for him. Not a chance in hell he falls to the end of the first unless his prognosis changes drastically

Haven't read this entire thread, so apologies if this has been posted already, but the big difference between Tua and Bo Jackson was Jackson didn't know he was hurt that bad and played on that hip for a bit and completely ruined it. Technology is way more advanced now and they treated it right away.

Nice try.

Three major operations in two years.

16 game NFL season...I wonder what the odds are of him getting injured?

We don’t know if he can play football again yet.

You can have him.

What?

He played in the next game after 2 of those "major operations"

Neither of those repaired body parts have been reinjured, and Jalen Hurts is playing out of his mind a year removed from the same procedure. Probably best that you leave the medical discussions to others Rohan. Drew Brees ended up here after a major operation, thank goodness you aren't calling the shots
