re: Love it - Olave was worth trading up for

All that to say, you can like Olave and also realize how stupid this trade of assets was to acquire him.

Olave was a great pick but if feels like an unnecessary luxury given all of the roster holes right now.

Olave avgs more per reception than hill with a journeyman qb. Awesome

Did you watch last year? Wr was a huge hole
Posted on 11/21/22 at 12:31 pm to Lester Earl
But that's not what you've said. You've continually run him down for no reason. He didn't make that trade. He just showed up, and he's played great
Posted on 11/21/22 at 12:35 pm to msstate7
I haven’t ran him down at all. Find me one thing I’ve said about him that falls under that category
Posted on 11/21/22 at 12:37 pm to Lester Earl
What do you think that proves?
Posted on 11/21/22 at 12:38 pm to Lester Earl
You essentially just said he only performs in garbage time
Posted on 11/21/22 at 12:51 pm to GynoSandberg
You can see the slant in production. No production in the 1Q of games. 66% of his yards come in the 2H.
Hill Is pretty even across the board. Not all offense is the same when down in games. A lot of other factors matter but as someone that watches Saints games, it’s very easy to see where Olave gets his numbers

No that’s what you said. Feel free to use my quotes and not put words in my mouth.

this ^^^^^^
he is the super hot wife you can never afford to get, so you lie to her about your income and borrowed money against everything you own just to marry her and ride that arse for a while.
olave did nothing wrong, he is great, and we gave up way too much to get him, but that said, he has shown he is worth the price. we just shouldnt have sold everything we own to get him when we had and still have so many other needs.
the bad trade deal is the issue, not the player we got. and in hindsight with thomas refusing to play.
olave saved the team this year by being so good.

The saints have ran 321 plays tied or in the lead.
They’ve ran 352 plays while trailing.
He has just not been much of a factor outside of catching garbage time passes. Though he was good yesterday.
is whatiknowsofar your alter? because the level of stupid in your post is at his level of moronic stupidity

41 of his 51 receptions (80%) have came with the Saints down 2 possessions.

stats are misleading because of the shite play calling and poor o-line play. that says nothing at all about the WR play.
lots of times every game we had guys open and no time to get the ball to them, where are the stats on that?
i think you arent dumb, so why are you picking such a dumb hill to die on with this?
you expressed a bad take, it happens to everyone at some point, so just let it go and move on from it
the honest posters in this thread are saying we overpaid for him based on our needs, they arent saying he wasnt worth the price.
no one can know if he was really worth the price yet, and we wont know that until year 4 or 5

13 yarder vs cards when it was 7-3 saints
He caught one for 20 in falcons game down 26-18
This is just looking at random games. I'm sure there are more. You just make crap up

We couldn't have given up way too much to get him and him still be worth the price. That's contradictory.
Olave is a good player at a non-premium position. He's not a Julio Jones-level prospect and we paid for him like he was. It was a terrible management of assets.

no it isnt, would you prefer i use the word affordable?
you can buy a steak when all you have is hot dog money but then your too broke to eat the rest of the week.
saints needed more draft picks not less and giving up picks to reach for WR, albeit worth the price, it was a luxury we couldnt afford to do and shouldnt have done.
thats a move you only make if we already had dalton and knew we had a good QB to throw it to him. them assuming winston would somehow change from a bum to a top QB was moronic from this FO and coaching staff
