re: Loomis has fooled this city and Gayle into believing he’s untouchable.

I’m starting to believe more and more that the Saints organization was 100% propped up by a hall of fame QB.
Every decision only worked because the QB was just so good.

Tremendous post and I totally agree with you

The greatest indictment of Loomis is that he "settled" for Carr after his efforts to land DeShawn Watson failed

Daily moment of gratitude: At least we didn’t succeed on that trade.

quote:Bobby backtracked in a later call, lol. He originally says how competent Loomis is as you pointed out. Someone gave Loomis’s record since Payton retired and he basically said, I know who the owner is so Mickey isn’t going anywhere. That’s not the original point he made. Everyone believes he won’t go anywhere because of Gayle. The point is it’s time for a change.
Apparently you didn’t listen to the post-game show where local jester Bobby Hebert berated a fan’s text who had the same sentiment (Loomis, along with DA have to go). Hebert went on to claim that Loomis was one of the top 10 GMs of all time! comparing him to Ozzie Newsome and Curly Lambeau. I kid you not! No GM that is interested in winning would have hired DA. It was strictly a money move. Bobby’s comments confirm that he is a member of the Saints swamp and nothing will ever change as long as the revenue stream continues. Fans and ticket holders are being played.

It’s one of the biggest gaslights in modern sports, and this board is proof some lapped up his bullshite
Winning just happened to be a byproduct of Loomis chasing to inflate the orgs bottom line. Once Brees and CSP left, all we are left is him chasing the dollar. You got idiots who really believe keeping Allen in the name of continuity and bringing in the big money QB is his commitment to winning

This.
Biching about Mrs Benson is a waste of time. She inherited the team and trust others to run it. Her best most important trait is she wants the team to remain in New Orleans. So the only way I know of to get her attention is a empty Dome week after week. Throw in some bagheads cause the gameday crew will always show it. The FO can't change that optic.

IIRC that "someone" who provided the stat was his own producer. But as Bobby has pointed out he is smarter than all of us and won't let facts affect his sorry take. Most of us know that no matter how bad (or great according to Bobby) Loomis is he isn't going anywhere.

I just disagree that no matter how bad it gets Loomis will run the Saints. Unlikely to get fired. But very likely to retire or move to another position and allow for a new GM of the Saints.

Loomis doubled down and called DA a good coach at the end of last season. There's no hope for this franchise

Is loomis still comparing da to Tom Landry and belichick

It truly is amazing, he never was even this amazing defensive coach. I don’t understand that narrative at all. Everyone just kept repeating he is a great coach on the defensive side of the ball.
The only time his defense was great was when we had elite talent on defense. Which a competent NFL coach should achieve. Even then we had so many breakdowns in big moments in the playoffs.
