re: Literally gave away the player who leads the league in interceptions

I just think it’s such a retarded line of thinking “well better to get something for him then nothing “
Uhh no I’d rather just let him play out his contract then walk vs. what we got. If they offered a second ? Sure that’s a W but we gave him away for a shitty pick AND sent one back. It was a terrible move and there is no defending it

Man was literally telling the front office he was the best nickel in the league, had the coverage data to back it up, and Loomis and Co. told him to get fricked.
This is a trash can organization at this very moment in time. Head coach with zero upside, future quarterback not on the roster.
He was far from elite with the saints as he is now with the eagles. The thing is the saints were using him almost exclusively as a nickel corner (and tried to pay him as such) the eagles are playing him as more of a traditional strong safety and he's flat out ELITE and will be paid as such.
Not only is it disappointing that we traded him for scraps but we were using him wrong the whole time.

I agree he was used wrong as a nickel and prob should of been transitioned to safety but he was top 3 as a nickel. Certainly one of the elite at that position.

Top 3 is a stretch. He wasn't elite in man coverage on receivers. He was against tight ends. He was top tier in the run game and blitzing out of nickel, though. I guess it's all about what you covet. He's definitely a lot better the way the eagles are using him, though. That's for sure.

One of the dumbest trades in NFL history. This front office is a mother fricking dumpster. Saints are fuuuuuuuuucked.

If this move gets Mickey Loomis fired, it will have been worth it.

I have not seen one thing written saying it was a good trade for us lol.
C - from Saints Wire
It is also fair to say the even before the season the consensus was the Eagles got the better part of that trade, in other words the Eagles upside was always going to be higher than the Saints upside in this trade.
It is also fair to note that CJGJ is having the best season of his career. He has matched his career total in INTs this season and all of those in the last 4 games. He is also on pace to eclipse or at least match his season high in nearly every defensive stat. I am not sure he has that season on the Saints. So for him it was probably a good move, he is showing more value in a contract year.

A real life trade rape
When Madden becomes reality. No longer can we tell people posting ridiculous trade scenarios on here "This ain't Madden."

Only two ways we "win" this trade:
1. Ceedy doesn't sign with the Eagles after the season
2. Ceedy signs a massive contract with the Eagles and doesn't remotely play up to that potential.

Loomis is a made man and has tons of job security, Gayle isn't firing him.

I thought someone posted numbers on here that say even with the int’s he hasn’t been good?

Coverage data lmao! He is trash in coverage. Absolute trash. He got burned several times last night. If it wasnt for a bottom 5 Qb shiting the bed it would have been tutty city.
He is benefiting from a great front 4 just like he did here. The eagles front is definitely better. The saints front 4 up until last week has been nonexistent. Couldnt get pressure on probably the worse oline in the nfl in cincy. Catching tipped picks at that bc of course he cant cover. Great in the box and a solid tackler.. Oh yea ra ra guy. 13-15 mil for that na. Moving on.

He hasnt but his deficiencies have been covered up really well by that front 4 and those corners.

We had a reason. We didn’t want to pay him. Instead we gave his money to the shell of Honey
It's really not that bad
You can cut him after next yr with a 0 cap hit.
The only hits to the cap will be the void yrs they added which will equal 5.7 mil. That will be there no matter what.
I think he got 18 mil guaranteed over 3 years. Ceedy duce wanted way more than that.
