hightower is tempting.

He's likely going to demand Jamie Collins type money

He is 33 y.o. , a little undersized and has had some issues. Unless he comes very cheap probably not worth it. He was a productive player to his credit.

Kevin Zeitler would be a great pick up but the Saints would have to pay a steep price because the draft is almost void of any quality guards and a lot of teams will be looking for help in there interior o. lines.

Wouldn't have to pay anymore than 11-12 million.

Would be cheaper than going after a top notch pass rusher

I think the smart move with hightower is trade him for a quality tight end or guard

I think he has shown enough for a team to deal for him even though RB aren't valued that much now days, there should be a team out there who needs one more then a guard or TE they have

But, if you had a choice, would you want a top notch pass rusher or a top notch guard? I would have to lean towards the pass rusher.

Wrong Hightower. We're talking Patriots's Pro Bowl LB Dont'a Hightower not our RB Tim Hightower. I wouldn't think Tim would fetch much (if anything) anyway because he's 30 years old.

Where to even begin?

Let's ignore who was actually being talked about, and start with the idea that hightower, as a free agent not under contract in 2017, could be traded

I think we could legitimately grab the following and get some decent bargains while overspending a bit at Guard.

Leary and Zeitler should be priorities. Spend what it takes to get them both in the fold and resign Evans to provide amazing depth and to protect Drew, while opening holes in the run game. I cannot stress enough how important adding these two is. It is the engine that led us to a SB and it could be fixed with these three moves.

Not to sound like a homer, but I would sign Kiki Mingo as my edge guy. You could get him on a very friendly contract, and he has the physical tools if not asked to do more than get after the QB.

Another "homer" but I think Mo Claiborne could be a nice, cap friendly signing that would shore us up. If we can avoid getting the whole damn secondary hurt, adding Claiborne would make this unit more than acceptable.

If you aren't sold on Anthony playing the Mike, Worillow would be a nice piece. He is coming off of consecutive injury plagued seasons, but when healthy he was very productive. He is better on passing downs, than Anthony, and still provides run support, sure tackler.

Free Agent
Larry Warford G
Melvin Ingram ED

Draft
Reuben Foster
Demarcus Walker
Dan Feeney/ Best Guard prospect

Also wouldn't mind a CB like Morris Claiborne depending on how we feel about our current corp's health and the money.

So, my question to you is: 1) Would you rather make $20 million/year and finish 7-9 year in and year out or 2) make $10 million a year and be a contender? All this while already having made $181.7M over 16 years

1) All day, every day.

The team starts with 150mil to spend but because of poor management decisions can only spend 110mil. Yeah I'm not taking a substantial pay cut.

1. As well.

Why should my salary go down because the boss made poor decisions with his?

If you listen to Mike Detillier on the radio, we won't get anyone unless we overpay them by 50 million dollars. No one wants to come here, we suck, and everyone has money.

Our only hope is trading for Joe Haden. That's it guys.

Sign Melvin Ingram and draft Reuben Foster if he falls to us and just like that we have a pretty salty linebacker pairing to go with Craig Robertson.

Or take an undeserved paycut and still go 7-9. Brady keeps winning and has a large salary for years now but that doesn't stop them from winning.
