It would be better for Saints fan if it were just 1st team all-pro. That's maxed at 2. I think Gurley will take that spot: better stats and more popular.

But it's not clear if it's restricted to first team.

Gurley, in 2016, 3.2 per carry. 885 yards in 16 games. Ingram has him there.

Mccoy, hurt in 15, 4.4 per, 3 TDs. Was great in 2016.

David Johnson..500 yards in 15. 4.6 per. 4.2 per in 2016. Not a world beater and not clearly better than ingram.

Chad's argument has water based upon your selections.

ETA. Zeke and Howard were not clearly better than Ingram based upon stats. Zeke was having an average year before he was suspended. Ingram was better in every category from then. Jordan Howard in 2016 was really good but not clearly better.

it wont matter what you say - kenner will just change the criteria to match what he wants to support his argument - which is basically a bowl of shite looking at itself in a mirror.

This should have no bearing on what you pay him.

If you need me to go year by year and show 5 backs each year that were better that can be done EASILY.

If you want 5 backs that have had overall better production 2015-2017 I just gave those names.

2015-17 -> Gurley has 300 more yards, 2 more tds, a PRO-BOWL.

Mccoy went to the pro bowl over ingram both years.

Ingram is a top 5 back right now.
At no point in time in the 2-3 years prior to 2017 could he be considered a top 5 back.

If you cant agree with that truth there is no point in debating.

agreed, but if he opts out you should reward him for quality play should you not?

I mean lets say he opts out, I'd EASILY give him 4/32mil.

His play has been quality, people want to bash the hell out of his total yardage but ignore the fact that before this year we were never a run-1st or run-heavy team.

The first year we are a run heavy team and he's leading the league in YPC when it comes to full-time backs. He's had the highest YPC the last 3 years as well.

Nobody here can legitimately name 5 better RBs the last 3 years. Hell, do it the last 2 years.

LET HIM WALK

Worford and Peat open the big arse holes for him. We can draft a guy in the 2nd round that does what Ingram does.

I havent reviewed the FA class but this certainly isnt imperative as Ingram value comes from our OL and the pass threat Brees brings. Bring him back at the right price, but as a RB going on his 3rd contract you do not want to open the bank for him.

2015 - #13 in ypc
2016 - #6 in ypc

to go along with
2015 - #17 in yards and #33 in tds
2016 - #12 in yards and tds

Ingram top 5 back now - YES
Ingram top 5 back the past 2-3 - NO

Lack of volume (Injuries, Fumbles, and losing carries to TIM HIGHTOWER ) does not bolster your argument

it actually kind of does bolster his argument. you cannot expect people agree with your point of view if you are so close minded to accept what they are saying as well.
