I know, we all agree the most likely at this point is DA.

But what about all of the external candidates? Let's discuss them all here in one spot.

Some options:

Offensive Background
Jim Harbaugh
Doug Pederson
Eric Bieniemy
Brian Daboll
Josh McDaniels
Nathaniel Hackett
Kellen Moore
Kevin O'Connell

Defensive Background
Brian Flores
Raheem Morris
Patrick Graham
Jerod Mayo
Leslie Frazier
Mike Zimmer
Aaron Glenn

If you are keeping the current staff, which I believe they should, Jim Harbaugh and Brian Flores are the only ones that do anything for me. Possibly Zimmer.

Flores is my #1 target outside the organization. In fact, I wouldn't be sad if he got the job overall.

Good call on Zimmer, I'm adding him

define what staff we are keeping? Dennis allen staying after he's been passed over? PCJr after he's been Payton's puppet for 16 years? Nielsen who obviously is a great coach but may not have any ties to new guy.

Not an inspiring list outside of Daboll, and he's likely NY bound

Agreed. I'd love to get Daboll.

I'm FULLY aware Taysom is nowhere near as talented as Josh Allen, but I feel like if we are going to keep him, Daboll could maybe make something out of him until we can get a future QB. Maybe thats wishful thinking

Well Aaron Glenn is technically an external candidate even though i doubt he ends up our guy.

Lot of buzz around Aaron Glenn too.

I like Zimmer and think he’s a really good coach. I feel like he’s in the same boat as Payton though and probably needs to recharge for a year before coming back.

I’m intrigued by Brian Flores and Raheem Morris.

I don’t really want any of those offensive guys listed. I might consider Kellen Moore, but I’m not sold on him being ready yet either.

Candidate out of left field: What about Dave Aranda? I know he’s a college guy, but I think his style and smarts could go over well in the NFL.

Hire Doug Pedersen. Has better HC resume than Allen. SB title, from Monroe La, Andy Reid coaching tree, and Saints have a better front office.

Anyone really believe he wanted Jalen Hurts in Philly?

By far the best option in that group

Brian Flores

He did have the Dolphins defense playing well and they seemed to be a better team trending up.

I think the Saints should take their time with this decision, whoever they choose. The last thing I want to see is Dennis Allen promoted within a week.

Don’t knee-jerk it. If Allen is the choice, fine. Just make sure you consider and interview a number of choices from outside the franchise.

I agree Flores is a good coach, but if we wanted him for his defense, why not just give DA a shot at that point? We know that he can coach this defense

Re Flores. There was some talk of a bad locker room culture there that led to Flores dismissal. I think Flores was fighting with his assistants too.

Only one I absolutely hate on this list is Kellen Moore...guy is still a baby in terms of coaching experience. And after that odd "draw" call, showed he is still learning the game from a coach's perspective.

I know everyone wants a young offensive guy, but I really don't want a guy who is an OC under a strong offensive coach. While I give them credit, as we do Pete, I don't think the OCs in KC, TB and SF are the reasons their offenses are so good is because of the systems the HC runs
