Mariota. The guy is an accurate passer, but was in a dumpster fire while with the Titans
Ryan Tannehill stepped right in and looked awesome ever since. Seems like it was a Mariota problem

We have some really dumb fans. Some of you want Winston, Mariota, and I’ve even seen Ryan Griffin mentioned. Wth is wrong with y’all?

Winston's 30 INT season came in Arians' first season in Tampa. Prior to that, Winston's interceptions numbers weren't bad.
lol yes they were. Not AS bad, but still bad. His TD-INT ratio excluding his 30-30 season is 88-58. That’s a 1.5-1 ratio.
1.5 to 1, meaning for every 1 and a half TDs thrown he’s tossing the ball to his enemy.
You call that “not bad”
This board is funny. Winston with Tampa; everyone here makes fun of how terrible of a QB he is. Winston with Saints; he’s the next top of the league QB. Y’all are logic starved.
My favorite is that he threw 30 INTs because he was still learning. He was in his 5th season! Lol. And he got his vision corrected? Bra, he wasn’t tossing picks because of bad eyesight. He was doing so because he can’t read defenses and would be incredibly erratic with his throws. That’s called bad quarterbacking, not myopia.

Only took Tannehill 7 seasons to find a system conducive to his talents. Tough go at it in MIA when he played under 5 OCs in 6 seasons and under trash HCs like Joe Philbin and Adam Gase
Of course Mariota had 4 different OCs in 5 seasons in Tennessee. 3 HCs including Mike Mukarkey and Ken Whisenhunt

I’m not sure who’s a worse poster. You or Battin rouge.

Always live these threads. Payton is a QB guru so let’s bring in every scrub around the league because he can fix him...well every one but the one that already has a year in the system.

lost his job to Ryan Tannehill
And even Tannehill made them quite competitive. Pretty telling

This might be the dumbest shite I ever read

Mariota in this offense would be a game changer. Tennessee was the wrong style. Of play and he hasnt gotten a chance out in Vegas.
Mariota could wind up better than Brees in New Orleans

So, you like mariota?
I mean, in a vacuum I like him better than Winston or Hill. He’s basically Teddy Bridgewater with more juice. Protects the football and can help control the game on the ground which SP loves. Great locker room and community guy. He fits the bill
If he’s cut by the Raiders I’d make a call on him. Not sure I’d give up any serious assets. Dude would probably take less money to get into a good offense with a stable coach and system

I don’t think this idea deserves to get blasted as hard it it did.
Some of you said it’s the dumbest or worst post you’ve ever read. That’s ridiculous.
Winston looks like Aaron Brooks 2.0. That being said, if the HC likes him and you’re already 1 year in, not sure it makes sense to chase Mariota.
But I think it’s reasonable to question that Mariota oils have more upside than Winston. Name one QB that acts like Winston that has ever been successful.

I mean I don't hate the idea.
I just like to clown around.
He really wouldn't be a bad backup option.

Mariota has only thrown for 3000+ yards once in his career.
Winston has only thrown for less than 3000 yards once. Turnovers can be fixed. His last year in Tampa, his offensive philosophy was to push the ball downfield but that leads to more TOs.

One thing I'll say about Jameis is that he had only one season where they had a good running game in Tampa.
2015.
Doug Martin rushed for over 1400 yards and the had the 5th best rushing attack.
after that season:
2016- 24th rushing offense
2017- 27th rushing offense
2018- 29th
2019- 24th
so I think if we can run the ball like we did last year that should take some pressure off him.
but the question is if Jameis is the guy will Payton air it out more. I tend to think he will but we'll see I guess.

He must be thinking it right?
I think a tell will be drafting some speed at WR.

You haven’t watched Mariota play in the NFL have you? He’s brutally awful. Average to good arm and mobility but his pocket awareness is absolutely non existent and his mechanics are terrible. He was great at Oregon because he had enough wheels to extend plays until his receivers got open downfield but that doesn’t happen in the NFL. He’s an average backup not a starter.

I like Callaway a lot moving forward but wonder about Trequan Smith.
Trequan has only 80 catches in his first three years. 119 targets so he can be reliable when his number is called but still wondering if or when he'll take that next step.
Callaway had 21 catches on 27 targets. He provides some speed.
we let Sanders go...

Calloway is going to be great for us but not as a speed WR. I think he's a 4.55 4.6 guy.
Tutu Atwell (projected bottom 1st top 2nd) is a 4.3 burner.
Two burners in Harris and draftee with Calloway, Mike and Trautman underneath would be of help to any new QB
