This is accurate, but if the statements in the petition before the court prove accurate there is some very odd and vindictive behavior on the other side too.

Saints are not leaving. It would take a decade like the Rams have had to even make the NFL consider it. Louisiana is going to do whatever it takes to keep them. So the only place the Saints might move to in 2026 would be a new stadium.
if an owner is committed to moving their franchise, there isn't shite that a city or state can do about it. if Rita, et al. are committed to moving to San Antonio, Los Angeles, London or selling to someone who is committed to doing that, then it will happen. It wouldn't even take much. The best possible spot to build a new stadium in New Orleans is where the superdome is now. reject a stadium built in it's place or reject playing in Tiger Stadium in the interim and there's your reasoning. and wouldn't you wait 10 years for a chunk of a billion dollars? the only thing that could prevent it would be the NFL owners not wanting a team to move out of New Orleans after the part they played in the rebuild when the city & state are doing everything possible to prevent it. but even then, it's not like Goodell is going to fight for us.
Honestly, as much as i enjoy watching the Pelicans, i could give a shite whether they move or not. I don't WANT it, but the union of the saints and new orleans must be preserved.

The NFL doesn't want to move its teams. It is doing everything it can to keep the Raiders in Oaklad, Chargers is SD, and Rams in STL. The Rams will leave though if the Inglewood voters approve the plan. The city and state of Mo didn't work with the NFL and ownership until the very end and fan support has been lousy. That is not the case in NOLA. The state and city bend over backwards for the Saints and fan support is awesome. The NFL does a good of protecting teams where the city actually supports them.

Oh god please shutup about Saints moving

This is too bad. I wouldn't be surprised if the LeBlanc family has some success in courts since most Judges and juries don't look kindly on the 2nd and 3rd wife suddenly getting so much stuff.
It could be pretty easy to get Benson ruled less than able to make decisions.
Plus the NFL hates this type of stuff and so does the NBA. Don't be surprised if there's a sale down the road with both parties getting enough money to settle their differences.

I would say to expect a sale as well. It doesn't really seem like anyone involved would want to actually run the team. As far as the team moving I don't think that is too likely but with that said 2 of the top 5 most valuable franchises are located in Texas so a move to Texas could make good financial sense.

Wtf? Why are people taking up for senial benson? People you don't know shite about what's going on. Sticking up for the man that wanted to move the saints to San Antonio after Katrina.. It was Rita that saved the franchise and now he's gone senial and the witch Gayle is trying to make away with the whole family's fortune taking advantage of a senial old man

Are there any circumstances where the spouse can come in and legally say "I've got the wheel"?

Tags is gone, Benson/Gayle will be gone and Rita is from/associates with Texas.
it's not a crazy idea.

Where in Texas would they move? San Antonio? Plus the owners of the Cowboys and Texans will do whatever it takes to keep an NFL team out of SA.

This is what is really screwy because this was done back in December yet the people on the Tom Benson camp didn't notify the NFL or NBA to get their approval of this move prior to the ouster of Renee, Ryan, & Rita.
NFL and NBA now will not approve of the ownership shift until the court proceedings are over which means that Rita, Renee, and Ryan are still in control. You would think they would have put more forethought into this move but it now looks like a impulse move.

benson is a business man first. we dont know if he was putting on a show to sell tickets in san antonio. not only that, but at the time nobody knew what was going to happen with new orleans, the dome was fricked.... Im not going to cast stones on someone in that situation. benson has done everything right since 2006, playng a big part in rebuilding the city. he has cemented his legacy as a new orleanian first and foremost, and these moves point to someone that has righted any wrong that some may have perceived during the aftermath of katrina.
