Per @PFF, Saints CB Marshon Lattimore was targeted six times in coverage and allowed five receptions for 142 yards & an opposing passer rating of 158.3. Five different Rams receivers caught passes vs. Lattimore.

Super disappointed in his play so far this year. He looks slow. Was hoping he could turn the corner this year but it’s not looking promising.

Could have been Mahomes ... his regression has been terrible

Lattimore hasn't been good since his rookie season.

This isn't true. It took a few weeks for Lattimore to get going last season but when he did he played very well. Maybe not as good as he did as a rookie, but still very well.

There could potentially be a pattern forming though, because he is once again off to an incredibly slow start.

So basically anybody off the street could have done just as good

Few of those he was expecting safety help over the top and didn't get it.

That doesn't excuse all of them though he was a few steps behind in middle of the field routes where no safety help is expected. Agree with him having a slow start last year also then being solid.

A change must be made at DB coach to see if this is a coaching thing or a Lattimore thing.

Regardless, this is one less contract we will have to worry about.

It really sucks that he hasn't panned out. Remember when everyone thought he was an absolute steal when they selected him

I'm not sure how it could be a coaching thing. He just seems to be unable to cover people consistently

it's not some coincidence that every single corner that walks through here under allen has struggles

We literally have three 1st round picks starting at corner in Lattimore, Apple, and Robinson...and all of them look like they've never played the position before.

and safeties which are seldom of use in the passing defending game.

Is it a regression or is it DA giving him more responsibility (putting him on an island) and him not being up to that?

Y’all act like he didn’t hold Nuke to like 30 yards before the last drive vs Houston. Until that last play, he looked incredible in that game.

My whole thing is that even if he never gets to his rookie year ability, he’s still the best CB the saints have ever had.

This has been the problem the first two weeks. The safeties are constantly chasing the play when you see the replay. That's inexcusable

It's like when Pels fans point out Lillard could have been a Pel.

No, he could not have been.

He lost a step. Still has great cover skills but he can no longer recover the way he did as a rookie if he gets beat by a step or two.
