Lack of Leadership by Gayle Benson

Situations like this is where having a weak owner like Gayle Benson is ultimately going to screw Drew and all the fans.
I honestly think if this had happened while Tom Benson was still alive and with it he would have MT, Kamara, Jenkins, Jordan and anyone else who trashed Drew packing their bags now.
Trade them, release them, he would get them off the team.
Gayle Benson needs to make a statement. She needs to be forceful and make it clear that this type of division has no place in the Saints organization. She should require MT, Kamara, Jenkins and Jordan to personally apologize to Brees over the phone or in person. Anyone who doesn't is no longer part of the team.
Come on Gayle Benson, do what needs to be done. Sadly I don't have any real expectations that she will and this is what a lack of leadership gets you.

Tom would have said some racist stuff and even caused more trouble for the organization. I'm not sure what Gayle is supposed to say at the moment. No matter what, it would piss a lot of people off.
Maybe when some of this calms down her, the coaches, and the players can come up with some kind of response.
I'm not holding my breath though because of shitstains like MT13 who will not accept any kind of "compromise".

Yeah, kick them all off the team and watch the self destruction of the team as it goes down the drain. I mean really, as if that's going to solve the problems, some of you fools I swear. Smh

Punish in private, praise in public. That's how leadership works. Let them handle their business. You aren't privy to what goes on behind closed doors.

I disagree. You think Jerry Jones or Mark Cuban wouldn't have made a statement by now?
Maybe we need to stop caring if people are going to "pissed off" or not. You'll be traded or released.
Honestly I don't care if we have very few players left and players have to play both ways. I don't want any player who threw Drew under the bus as part of the Saints team.
If I was Gayle Benson I would bring the entire team together in a virtual meeting. Flat out tell them they aren't welcome if they don't support Drew and all that he's done for the Saints, the city of New Orleans, the state of Louisiana and the Gulf Coast. They are welcome to then go offline and contact Gayle herself that they no longer want to be part of the Saints team. They will then be traded or released.

Ok, but what will get in return in the trade? Your team would be significantly weaker. GMs aren't going to give you anything worth while for a gen you're giving away

I should clarify, there is zero doubt she would not keep the team after doing that. There is no logical world where that happens, and she's not eventually forced out.

Oh I understand Gayle won't do it. She doesn't have the backbone to do it.
I wouldn't care what I got. I wouldn't want trash like MT and Kamara on the team. They are a locker room cancer right now. Get what you can and let them be a cancer to another locker room.
If they eventually force me to sell the team I would. They'll be paying market price for the team and I'd be able to retire down on the Caymans or Costa Rica.

You can’t do that now. We live in the real world where there are consequences for actions. She isn’t going to torpedo the franchise in a petty response to immature children. Someone has to be a grown up.
Now...did the saints offer for Kamara’s next contract just go down by about 5 million a year? Maybe.
If a team offers something decent for Thomas next offseason do we listen? Perhaps more than we would have.
Does Jenkins get cut if he doesn’t play outstanding this year? Probably.
But if you’re going to retaliate you have to be smart about it
