The League Office wanted Packers @ 49ers.

They DID NOT want a three-match of two NFC West teams for the evening game on Championship Sunday.

I can't blame them for making the $$$ decision. I would have done the same thing were I in control.

With the NFL, it's always about the $$$.

It wasnt iffy. He was short. Everyone saw it including the NFL but they needed Packers and wanted the game over. They got the results they needed. Packers by over 4.5

It proves the official first down marker is a foot or so before the yellow line.

I don’t think that’s the official stick. I think the official one is on the other side of the field. I’m not debating either way. It’s just an observation.

The league wants the Packers vs the Chiefs, just like in the very first Superbowl, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the league.

It's all been preordained. Watch and see.

Put some coin on it.

That was very close. With all the obvious misses they have had, I am not going to bitch about that one.

No, it doesn’t. It doesn’t show the moment his elbow touches (prior to his head) and the yellow line is not static; it moves back and forth during the video replay.

Meaning, you’re pimping a cherry picked shot of a yellow line that moves (in BOTH directions) to prove he gained the yardage.

If you want to convince someone, post the shot from the sideline of when his elbow first touches the ground.

But they were ok with a three-match of the AFC South?

I agree he was short, but to think it was intentional is a bit of a stretch. The ref was trailing the play, overran the spot, then had to come back to make the mark. I did think it was weird that they didn't have a clear shot, then had to go back and watch additional new footage. I have never heard of them going back to watch additional footage, plus I thought there was a time limit.

I can't wait for the "the league wants A Rod to win a 2nd so he will be considered better than Drew" conspiracies.

It proves that it's not a certainty that he was short. And, that's what it takes to overturn that.

Okay, taken at face value you’d be right if only one camera was functioning.

But there are other angles and shots/video they can piece together frame by frame with the sideline shot showing the moment the elbow is down, which is prior in time to this screen cap.

Both are accurate. If they weren't, there would be no point in the auxiliary crew.
