It's actually quite a bit, but the gist is that they love each other

I assume we can’t afford Winston but I’d love to see us sign him

I did notice on tv during Tampa’s last drive Brees poked Winston in the chest and say “it’s your time now”.

It’s a video, I’m not transcribing it for you. If you don’t want to watch, you don’t have to

I actually think if the Saints want him and basically say “we can’t pay you as much as others but the team is yours” he might take a smaller contract. He’s made a lot of money in the league already, sat a year learning the offense and from a HOF qb and coach and would be taking over a team that is already in a good position to win now (depending on how we survive the cap situation). If he’s looking for the best spot to further his career instead of chasing the bag he should probably consider it.

On top of that, i don't think he will break the bank anywhere else.

The absolute most i could see him getting is 7 mil from someone else and i don't even think that happens.

He's getting more than $7m. He's a young qb that threw for 5k.

I did not care for Winston at all...ever. Am I I crazy but now I kind of think the guy has looked like a really good teammate and seems to have matured a great deal being around the Saints QB culture. He’s got a ton of talent, is young, big, is in great shape and if he can be smarter with the ball then I think he could be really good. What do you guys think? I get laughed at when I say this, all I get back is 30 INT’s and Crab leg jokes.

I don’t think it’s crazy, but we don’t really know what kind of improvement he’s made over the last year.

He was immature, very immature.

I believe he got what he needed here, time to grow, and time to learn.

I think he can be a good qb1 and seems like Sean is thinking the same thing.

Saints could do alot worse than Winston to attempt to replace a hall of fame qb

What, you think Walmart will pay him more than the Saints?

He's a former 1st overall pick who actually flashed a ton of potential, his downfall being turnovers, making idiotic throws thinking he could get away with it.

As immature as he is, a team that contends like us rarely have the opportunity to draft a physical talent like him. Remember how touted he was coming out of both high school and college, that rarely leads to a NFL caliber player/success but he's been able to do that.

Where has he been successful in the NFL? Tampa moved on from him and now they are in the super bowl. That tells teams a lot.

I think with CSP coaching up Jameis, the result would give the Saints 11-13 wins next season.

He’s going to need to be around the $12 million mark. I think for any more than that, it would be worth it to go get a first rounder.
