isnt the titans #18 a better offer then just getting Malcolm Butler from pats?

it is my understanding that the patriots are only offering a straight up player for player trade while the titans are only offering the #18 pick

personally im thinking both offers are about equal and we can maybe even deal one of the first round picks we would have for extra pick in round 2 & 3 so wouldn't the titans pick be more attractive of an offer or am I wrong?

is CB Malcolm Butler that good of a player that he is a cant miss better option then a #18 pick?

then if we deal with the patriots, what sort of a contract extension will Butler demand? I am thinking its not going to be any sort of an average money contract

With his contract demands yeah. With their 32md round pick it makes more sense but I still don't love it.

I would take the 18th and try to sign Logan Ryan.

I could be wrong, but I don't think Saints have any intention to do Butler + 32 for Cooks. They're putting pressure on Titans to do 5 and 18 for 11 and Cooks. I think Tenn is only willing to give up 18, so far

Have you seen the Saints draft? Take the known quantity.

I would take the 18th pick over just Butler. Butler and 32 is a bigger question, but I think I might still rather 18 considering we have to pay Butler big time money in a year or lose him.

5 and 18 and I will JIMP.

It's a known quantity and a high cap hit. And people need to forget getting a first rounder and top CB for cooks. That's ridiculous and pats aren't morons.

It's a much better offer.
Stay far, far away from that Pats deal. That's buying high on a hero. Plus, the Saints front office is woefully inferior to the Pats, so that's not a team to deal with anyway.

All the stuff lately suggests #32 for our 2nd rounder too.

If we're talking Butler for Cooks straight up, then yes Cooks for 18 makes more sense long term given that we may not be able to pay Butler.

If it's Cooks for Butler and 32, I think you've got to go that route. 2 first round picks, plus Butler would be an immediate upgrade next year.

I actually herd some idiot on the sports radio say he thinks the saints will trade cooks for butler and the #32 pick and then the patriots will turn right around and trade cooks to the titans for the #5 and #18 pick because they are much better negotiators.

that sounds like crazy outrageous shite, but then the pats are wheelers and dealers so I wouldn't put anything past them

With the Saints not taking that big of a cap hit with Fairley I could see them having enough money leftover to make a run at Logan Ryan

I'd take 18th pick

I'm just afraid the known quantity may be inflated by playing for best organization in football. BB had an ability to get more from less at db

As ridiculous as that is, I would say the Saints would be sending their 1st to the Titans and the Pats have no first at that point to send them.

I would think with all the picks they have, the pats can equal the value of our #11 by throwing in several picks to equal something worth a #11 pick

don't the pats have like 12 picks or something? so "if" we entertain crazy whatever they gave up they could "resell" that 5 and 18 for 5 or 6 more picks which is what they love to do.

if that cluster fuk of maneuvering happened they might realistically come out the deal owning something like 15 or 16 picks in the draft lol

I would "almost" want to see it happen just for the shear magnitude of the art of the deal being made there, it would be one for the history books for sure lol
