That's all I'm expecting out of him. It would be great if he's legit in 2019 as well, but his age is going to catch up with him eventually.

2018 - 4.5mil cap #, 2.5mil in dead money if cut.
2019 - 3.5mil cap #, 1.0mil in dead money if cut.

2019 should be pretty cut & dry with Ginn. Prove that he's still a legit WR or get cut. 1.0 mil in dead money is nothing.

That is what I thought.
Ginn isn't going anywhere till we get another burner at WR.

Ted Ginn has historically been an inconsistent and unreliable player.
Ted Ginn has historically been on teams with inconsistent and unreliable QBs. Cam can have big games, but even then, he can have terrible stretches.

Ginn looked great his one season with Brees, and that's on the back end of his career. I can only imagine if he played with a top QB for most of it. Dude might be approaching HOF levels.

Ginn reminds me of Joey Galloway. Just a natural freak with speed well past the normal age it usually falls off.

One guy coming off a knee injury and the other a rookie. How about we actually go into the year with the two guys we know are going to produce.
Means absolutely nothing, they have been raving about Tre'Quan Smith at camp who like Thomas before him has been catching everything in sight. Cameron Meredith has been running his routes and catching balls showing no signs of knee issues. I wouldn't be surprised to see these two start with Michael Thomas come September. Rookies today are not like rookies of the NFL past, they are coming out of college much more prepared and ready to play ball than years past, they are basically pros already.

Point is they’re unknowns while Ginn isn’t. Smith may be good but who knows if he is durable enough.

Yet half of the top round rookies bust or don’t quite live up to expectations.

Of course they do, you think every rookie is gonna live up to the expectations. Lol But they are more advanced than rookies of the past decades due mainly to how they train and play football today. It's a year round thing, and they start with these kids at a very young age with training them like never before.

I get that but rookies are still unknowns until you actually see them play

And from this same scenario the legend of Marques Colston was formed

You don’t have to imagine. If you are a Saints then you’ve already seen it. His name was Devery Henderson.

No. They need him to stretch the field although he was resting on his laurels last night. He ran two wrong routes.
