No, Gary Wood was. He was the highest paid backup in the league in 1967, and he wasn't second string. He was the backup to Kilmer, and Cuozzo. His salary was 50K a year. That was a huge salary for a starter.

No Aaron Brooks was.

Considering if he wasn’t our best option at qb he would immediately become our second best non-qb offensive weapon…id say no.

There's a significant contingent here who are too young to really remember his tenure, and base their opinion of him on stat lines and on the fact that he won that first playoff game.
As someone who had season tickets for most of his tenure, though, I can confirm he was awful. He was never well-liked, either, probably because his effort and preparation were so bad.

True, but nobody could laugh like Brooks after throwing a pick.

Aaron Brooks and that cheese arse smile after picks...he was dumb as shite.

Brooks contract was 6 years 36 million. What is taysoms?
Brooks won the franchise's first playoff game.
Brooks could run like Taysom but and a big but could also pass for over 200 yards and multiple touchdowns a game.
Besides the question is inaccurate because taysom is not a quarterback but is a hell of a football player

Reading the threads on here, I believe Taysom has compromising pictures of most posters on here

There is one poster that has probably already sent him unsolicited pics.

I don't know what Steve Walsh contract was when we was traded to NOLA, but he was a former 1st overall pick (Supplemental Draft) by the Cowboys then a year later the Saints gave up No. 1, 2 & 3 draft picks for him.
I'd imagine he amounted to a pretty low bang for your buck in those NFL days numbers.

It’s like you forget Taysom is also our #2 offensive weapon on the team after Kamara. Just bc our QB room necessitates he become the best option doesn’t take away from the first point. He’s worth every penny for his entire role on the team, which is not solely to be our starting QB.

Hill will count for less than 6% of the cap space in 2022.
Brooks was making $6M a year when the cap was in the $75M-$85M range, that would be 7-8%
Walsh made $1.3M a year, but when he was with the Saints he predated the salary cap. First cap was in 1994 and was set at $34.6M, his $1.3M would be less than 3.8% of the 1st cap

Wrong question.
Taysom Hill is not an NFL starting QB.
He is not a QB
He is extremely overpaid

Was Taysom Hill Sean Payton’s best man at his wedding?
I thought I heard that somewhere
Not that it matters
