Ever since I was a kid in the 90s, the Saints always picked WTF players in the first round and it was always disappointing. The last two exciting players that I can remember the saints picked in the first round was Rickey Williams (had to give up the whole draft for him) in 1999 and Reggie Bush in 2005.

Both were mediocre and disappointing overall.

I was pretty fired up when we drafted Lattimore and Brandin Cooks.

The thought of Brees with more time to throw and a more effective running game excites the hell out of me.

Nothing will ever beat the melt on this board for the Saints skipping over Jarvis Jones.

Would you rather be distracted by shiny objects dangled in front of you or win football games?

Yeah and both of those picks were terrible. Ruiz is a good pick

I get that because we know what Mahomes is with KC. But if it would have played out the other way, would it have been better for us so far? We would still be looking for a #1 corner, and that pick would have started 5 games so far. And would we really know how good he is without the benefit of experience? Next year he wouldn’t play either. So we would be paying his 5th year without knowing if he truly is our next franchise QB, and that’s only if Brees retires after the season. We all know that would be more than worth it because of how great he is, but we wouldn’t know it for sure in this alternate scenario.

I don’t think many were thinking about the saints when Drew was signed much less hiring some former Cowboys assistant. Unbelievable that the Dome serviceable to start off the 06 season.

The Saints haven’t had a bunch of top 5 picks. I think they have had some buzz around many of our picks. OL are typically not considered exciting. Davenport was a small school player so most weren’t as excited.

Ellis, Rankins, Meachem, Cooks, Vicarro, Jordan, Lattimore, and Ingram were all guys you could get hyped for.

I was pumped on Lattimore and Ramcyzk. Mildly excited on Rankins.

That’s been about it. Tonight seemed like a head scratcher. Didn’t really want anybody at 24, we just NEVER trade back

I was actually excited when we drafted Mark Ingram first round 2011.

Oh how naive I was.

A lot of us were very pumped over Davenport.

We were gravely mistaken.
