For the extreme value we received out of a 7th round pick who became the greatest receiver in Saints history, would you say Marques Colston is the best draft pick in Saints history?

Please share your pick as to who you think is the best.

IDK about best overall. For value yes absolutely. He's arguably the best WR we ever have had, and till this day I still dont know how he never made a pro-bowl. he was the definition of consistency at a high producing level

I'd put Jahri Evans above Colston.

4th round.
4x all pro.

I think Jahri was a huge part of helping Drew be successful.

Colston was slightly a by product of Drew's dominance.

this and Drew missing out on the MVP are 2 of the biggest mistakes any of our players have had happen.

Man I dunno, that no call against the Rams that year was pretty ridiculous.

Colston was a tremendous value in the 7th as was Zach Strief in the same 7th round.

Blast from the past

Unsung hero Kevin Houser was a 7th round pick in 2000 and played every game of his 8 year career (10 total) in NOLA as long snapper. Truly an undervalued talent IMO.

Danny Abramowicz was a 17th round pick out of Xavier.

First guy I thought of. And he didn't have Drew Brees throwing to him.

It's really not much of a debate. 7th round pick...

Evans is a Hall of Famer...but he's a 3rd rounder (my bad, a 4th rounder - thanks LA)

Colston should get votes one day. He and Brees were unstoppable.

Those two were top 10 in everything...history will be kind to Colston.

Of course it’s Marques Colston. Here is bang for your buck:

NFL draft:

2006 / Round: 7 / Pick: 252

As a player:
New Orleans Saints (2006–2015)

Toward the end of his career, he played with nerve damage in both his shoulders. His reach declined. He had an accurate QB to compensate for his later career injuries. He gave the Saints consistent play and played through his shoulder injuries.

Career NFL statistics
Receptions:
711
Receiving yards:
9,759
Receiving average:
13.7
Receiving touchdowns:
72

In the Saints Superbowl win, Colston tied Henderson with 7 catches, had the most receiving yards 83, had the highest yards per catch 11.9, and had the longest catch of 27 yards.

He was consistent and dependable. He was an integral component in the Saints Superbowl run.

Nope… Drew Brees was. Darren Sharper is a close second.

And it could've been longer if they didn't have to get rid of him because he defrauded so many teammates and coaches.

When and what round in the draft did the Saints select Brees and Sharper?

Reading is difficult for some.
