pretty sure Julio has had his fair share of fumbles against the Saints. One of the those fumbles the Saints recovered it and ran back for a TD in 2011 I believe.

i want to say he had a costly fumble in the 2013 season opener vs. Saints.

and also Jarius Byrd knocked the ball out his grasp the following season opener in Atlanta. He would've have scored if not for the fumble. Saints recovered the ball but lost that particular game.

He's easily a Top 5 WR in the league to me but he hasn't been a thorn in our side over the years like I thought he would be.

I think you could make a better case that Steve Smith tormented the Saints more than Julio has in his career. As good as Julio is, I hated it when we played the Panthers b/c of Steve Smith. Jerry Rice and T.O. goes without saying and so did the Rams Greatest Show on Turf offense.

he's a great player but he hasn't always had our number. That's all I really care about.

Not his fault Atlanta doesnt feed him in the red zone.

They feed him everywhere else and his catch rate is kind of bad for the caliber of player he is. 88 rec on 148 targets is kind of alarming for him. So he doesn't score and he can barely catch?

he ranks 47th at his position in catch %
34th in 2016
24th in 2015

Catch rate

He's top 5 WR for sure. Any given sunday he's a top 5 player in the league too. They can overlap and he can also fall out of both categories the next week.

I'm hoping ATL does NOT re-sign Julio to a huge contract just because of his age. He's actually only missed a few games the last few seasons but ATL limits his snaps on purpose. My issue is that I think he'll decline rapidly in 2-3 years.

However, if ATL does NOT re-sign him, I'll look to this board to laugh at ATL and proclaim how we let one of the best WRs in the league to walk. It'll be good times for all!

Do you even depth of target? As the distance between the WR and QB grows, the efficiency goes down

There’s a reason 18 if the top 20 in catch % are RBs and the other two are TEs. Then there’s a reason the Michael Thomas, golden Tate’s, Jarvis Landry’s (and other slot guys) gave the highest catch % for WR - they catch the ball closer to the LOS

Teams lose sleep gameplanning guys like AB, Julio and Odell for a reason.

Eh Wentz was great this year till he went down.

I think He was leading the NFL in TDS and finished second after missing the last few games, and he was on the best team in the NFL.

#3 is probably fair.

Julio, AB, and Odell are in a league of there own when it comes to wideouts. Thomas is on the cusp of making it into that group but he’s still not quite as dominant. I personally think he’s about to be there though.

On any given day they are the best in the NFL. I personally think AB is the most consistent.

Remember when luck, Stafford, Carr, etc had great seasons and people were putting them elite tier?

Hell, you can include Newton and Ryan. It's not about one year, it's about body of work over a period of time.

Julio is pretty fricking good. I’m not sure exactly where I’d rank him. Those kind of lists may be fun, but they’re too subjective for substantive discussion, imo.

For me it’s AB, Nuk, Julio, Green, Odel ( if he doesn’t lose a step post injury and calms down), then Mike as of right now. In terms of the big, fast physical freaks I actually like Nuk more than Julio because he seems to stay on the field more and has done a lot with much less at qb. Guy is a gamer.

Just for the record: MT is faster than Hopkins.

Hopkins is for sure a top 5 WR, but to me that just shows that Thomas’ lack of elite speed doesn’t mean he can’t be at the top of the WR pile

I don’t think that’s accurate. Hopkins messed up at combine but then killed it on other workouts running a 4.41.

quote:

Hopkins put up a 4.41-second time in his second 40-yard run at the Tigers' recently opened indoor football facility. Hopkins' first-run time of 4.46 seconds was also faster than his NFL scouting combine time of 4.57 seconds.

“Big plays” differentiate the elite (Hopkins) from the next tier that MT is in. Hopkins has a penchant for big plays that Thomas hasn’t shown yet

The list is literally based on the past year.

That’s it’s premise.
