This guy was me when hartley hit that field goal…. Couldn’t believe it was actually happening..
Super bowl on the other hand I went into that expecting to win. Nfcg was much more emotional for me.

Gonna have to say its you.
Winning the Super Bowl was everything and when Porter made the pick-6, I lost it way more than his NFC championship interception.
Still such great memories regardless.

NFCG doesn’t matter if we don’t win the SB

I sprained something in my Knee and limped for 2 or 3 weeks when Porter took the Pick back - so I am going SB.
There were definitly onions cut when we hit the field goal though

Never seen anything like that viking game people were outside on top of cars and shite and definitely was bigger.. everyone ran outside when he made that kick all over New Orleans…

Vikings game was way more intense and back and forth until the end.
Super Bowl a tale of 2 halfs.
Colts got the better of the Saints in the 1st and then the Saints took over in the 2nd.
My biggest regret of the Vikings game was I watched it alone I was so nervous . Now the Super Bowl I went to a fairly big watch party

I kinda know where you’re going with this, but no, winning the Super Bowl was better.
I might be in the minority on this one, but the NFC championship game was extremely stressful for me (as a fan). I was in the Dome and couldn’t believe we were letting the game slip away. When the Vikings got the ball towards the end of regulation and were driving, I sat down and looked down because I just couldn’t watch what I thought was going to be a game-winning MIN FG. When I heard this huge eruption of cheers, and my friend, shaking me, saying “interception interception”, I couldn’t believe it. When Hartley’s FG went through, I was obviously happy, but more relieved than anything else.
I was in section 455 (Colts end zone - Colts season ticket holder section) for the Super Bowl. I have never jumped up and down and screamed like I did when Porter intercepted the ball and scored. Just pure joy - far more than the NFC Championship. Colts fans were gracious too. I was mild-mannered for the whole game but just lost it at that moment because you instantly realized the Saints were going to win the Super Bowl - they understood. My face actually hurt the next day from smiling so much that night.
For me - Super Bowl and it wasn’t close.

I was in the dome for the Vikings game, and that is the only time I have ever shed a tear over sports. I stood in those stands and soaked it in. So many years of letdowns, and we were finally going to the SB.
I also went to Miami for the SB. That is the one and only SB that I have ever been to. It was a great experience, but not even close to the same emotions as the NFCCG.

Agreed completely with the 1st post that shite was an emotional roller coaster

Exactly… I cried after beating minny too..
I expected to win the SB had 0 doubt about it
Actually fell to my knees crying

Put it to ya like this. If we had lost to the Colts in the SB how would anyone on the planet feel about our win vs the vikings?

Those were the 2 best nights I ever had in the FQ

I’ll put it this way. SecretBase did a whole series on the History of the Vikings, and they spent extra detail in the NFCG and how the Saints are this evil team because of the alleged BountyGate charges. They did the same with the Falcons history, ignoring that the penalties were absolved once Vilma won his lawsuit. So, to some on the outside, the NFCG is a evil result while the SB was an after thought.
For me, though, it’s 1a and 1b. The NFCG was easily more stressful while the SB was more calming in a strange way post-ambush.

That’s irrelevant at the time what matters

Absolutely. It was an epic game. Breaking through always felt better than the actual superbowl to me.
Vikings game>SB and it wasn’t particularly close to me.

For close to a decade I would stand up and scream every time I watch the Porter Pick-6. I don't feel the same way about the Farve Porter pic. Maybe if he had returned it instead of just securing OT maybe that would be different. Both of those moments are franchise changing moments.
Would you trade those two moments for the NOLA No-Call? What about Minnesota Miracle? Those were franchise changing moments too.

NGCG game for sure.
I get it, without winning the SB it doesn't mean shite and we probably look back at it as a lost opportunity, Yada Yada.
But it being in the dome, the entire city being dialed in, the game being back and forth and at one point looking like a lost cause before Favre threw the pick.
All of that, and the perception that we never belonged and would never sniff a SB. All of that negative history and perception potentially being wiped away with one Hartley FG.
Then it actually happening and the whole city coming to a standstill. Traffic stopping in the middle of the street to celebrate.
To me, that feeling will never be topped.

I agree with you, but I was at the NFCCG so maybe I’m biased.
The 2009 NFCCG was the best game I’ve ever seen. The SB was a good game but on its own lacked intensity in the latter stages.
The SB is the bigger game, but yeah I was probably more pumped up about winning the NFCCG.

After watching the replay recently
We were extremely lucky to recover the onside kick.
Could have been Avery different game.
