Is Harold Landry an Edge Player worth trading up for?

Say he gets to around 14 spot where Washington sits. I can see Washington being willing to drop down a bit, lots of good corner depth in this draft. Landry is a premier edge player in this draft, fits a Gallete mold, is he premier enough to make worthy to move up for?

I'm not sure I'd want him at #27. I'd freak if they traded away draft choices to move up to get him.

thats nuts, he's exactly the complimentary piece we need that kikaha hasn't lived up to.

I guess I haven't been paying attention lately because everything I have seen has him going in the late 1st.

It’s such a weak draft at Edge, I would rather play to the draft’s strengths and get a guy who has all pro potential.

I hated the Kikaha draft pick. Kikaha and Landry are 3-4 OLB's. We play a base 4-3. That means that neither player will be a starter for us. We're talking 3rd down pass rush specialists. That's not something you invest a 1st round pick in when you have gaping holes at TE and WR.

negative, they are hand in the dirt rushers.

could be a starter, starter verbiage is overrated anyways.

we have a bigger gaping hole at edge players than we do at either TE or WR.

LOL Putting your hand in the dirt doesn't mean you can play a base end in a 4-3 . You have to be able to hold the edge as a DE in a 4-3. Neither player can do that.

Spot on.

Outside of the secondary and RB and QB, Id rather just draft the best available player. I’d personally still really like Vander Esch or Payne. I feel like either one make our D better

He's a little short for 4-3 DE IMO. Would end up being similar to Kikaha for us. I'd rather get someone bigger.

Can't see them jumping that far. If he falls to low 20's, maybe.

Kikaha is a terrible terrible athlete.

Harold Landry might be the best edge athlete in the draft

It's a solid point, I didn't mean to compare them as players, more just that I don't think he could produce in our scheme

He's a good athlete. I like that 3 cone.

fair enough, but Saints fans need to realize Kikaha is a terrible athlete with 3 knee surgeries. IT's not the scheme, its him.

I wish he had a lower salary or less health concerns, but I think the Chiefs would trade Dee Ford for cheap even though has been a good passrusher when healthy.

He prefers to rush from the right side which works for us and not KC (Houston's preferred spot). His poor run defense probably means he should be more of a pass rushing specialist which is also not a huge problem here.
