My first years consisted of expansion teams getting their first wins against us and the Winless Browns part 2 beating us, topped off by Ditka trading whole draft classes, and now I’ve had the past decade. Pretty awesome.

I moved to Louisiana in 2006 and wasn’t really into the NFL before that, so i only know the good Saints. I have enjoyed and appreciated the current ride.

think the most gut-wrenching thing I've ever seen happen to them prior to some of our previous playoff exits was the hail Mary that Tim couch threw against us in 1999

There is nothing that compares to Johnny Poe dropping Vince Ferragamo's wounded duck of a pass in 1983.

If he catches it, the Saints win the game and make the playoffs for the first time ever. Poe is playing deep center late, and watching the pass come, you almost think he could call fair catch, he's all alone and doesn't have to even move. He watches it the whole way in, and... it bounces off his chest.

Next play, big completion puts Rams into game winning FG position. Saints out, Cowboys in as the last playoff team. Wasn't a long kick, 42 yds, and it wasn't down the middle- it went right at the upright, but slid inside. Last game of the season, you have a whole off-season of sickened, bitter hatred at the cruelty of it all, and frick the Cowboys and Rams. I was 15, and I don't think I ever cried such tears of utter hatred about life itself, like I did that moment

I mean, it was THERE. RIGHT THERE. And then, it was gone.

Well, they used to have to do it against Joe Montana/Steve Young and the 49’ers.

And then the greatest show on turf with the Rams once Young was done. Was so happy to beat those assholes as our first playoff win in history but we seem to pay the price against them all the time since then, even when we put up 45 against them in 2018, the refs made sure we lost the one that mattered. I HATE the Rams, always have and always will, even more than the Bucs and Panthers (order of hate goes Falcons, Rams, 49ers, Panthers, Vikings, Bucs [Brady years are an exception but normally I don't hate them that much tbh]).

At least we swept the Bucs during their SB year.

First game my dad took me to was when the Saints blew a 13 point lead to the Rams with 4 minutes left in the game. Flipper frickin Anderson set a record for receiving yards in the dome that day, I still have nightmares about it.
