I’ve watched the play 100 times and can’t find a reasonable explanation for his actions.

He didn’t bring his head down until Diggs was in the air so the “he closed his eyes and missed” doesn’t hold water. In midair Diggs couldn’t redirect or juke.

And why tuck his arms in?

Bring the hate but the shite is unreal.

The coaches were literally screaming at the players not to commit a penalty. He arrived too early and pulled up so that he wouldn’t give them a FG attempt.

If you want to be pissed, be pissed that the coaches didn’t instruct the CBs to tackle/hold the WRs at the line and play the Safeties further back.

really was such a bad play. i felt from watching it that williams was early on the play and may have not wanted to draw the PI but i still can't translate that to how bad of a play on the ball it was.

You might as well be. It's not going to change.

I've thought much about it. For a 21 yo rookie I feel completely supportive. His future is bright. If that whiff would have been 5th yr 27 yo Vaccaro I would have been clamoring to run his arse out of town.

He’s terrible and didn’t realize the magnitude of the situation. Losers make loser plays and winners make the plays that need to be made regardless of circumstance, that simple.

I’m not down on him. I can’t for the life of me figure out why the hell he sidestepped the receiver. It’s generally the offensive player making the jukes

He still had a great year but this is the biggest WTF play I’ve ever seen.

That was my first thought but he didn’t do anything to indicate he was making a play. He went around the WR and tucked his arms in. When should a defender ever pull his arms in?

Time to move on, there are more important things to worry about in life than how the season ended.

It's been over a week now. Yeah the play was unreal but you clearly don't have much going on in your real life outside of a game you have no control over.

Yes! once down to 10 seconds, they should've just held all eligibles at the line of scrimmage, run 5 seconds off clock give them 5 yards and then done it again, leaving only one untimed down from the 50, but i understand what they did too

i'm sure they thought about it

That’s a great thought. Perhaps they were trying to keep Keenum form “Hail Mary to the end zone” range?

He wasn't going full speed at the WR. And when he pulled his arms in and put his head down he was clearly wide of the receiver.

right, they may have liked their chances better on 20 yd play, out of bounds and making a long field goal vs 1 hail mary play from the 50; probably didn't even account for a 61 yd td

I want it to be clear i'm not going conspiracy theorist. I'm not in the camp that thinks Cam tanked on his pursuit. (actually think he made the right move)

I'm also not sure Diggs doesn't get OOB there with 1-2 seconds left for a long field goal as there was :04 when he caught it.

The way Williams played it was just ridiculous in so many ways.

Great rookie season but come on guys, yall have to understand why people are upset. Some posters have a point! I dont care that he’s only 21, hes a professional and he will never be a winner if he continues to make plays like that.

He had the chance to slow his momentum and then aimed a spear wide left. And when he put his head down it was clear he was going to be wide of the WR, so why put your head down instead of waiting to make the tackle?
