McCarthy had no say so in drafts in Dallas

Seems like he drafts well

This is not his doing. Jerry controls the draft picks and to be fair he has drafted quite well. They drafted good before hiring McCarthy

"I think it's like any job and this one specifically: I have a clear understanding of the responsibility," McCarthy said, via Schuyler Dixon of the Associated Press. "This is the most input I've ever been a part of as a head coach in personnel, particularly in the draft. We spend a tremendous amount of time as a coaching staff on the draft. . . . It's different. Just trying to give you a good answer, compare it to my past.

I mean the guy went 12-5 every year he had his qb the last 3 years. I’m not crazy about it but we could do a frickload worse in our current position. At least we’d be run like a professional team.

He has a better record than Payton. He is a seasoned HC. I still want a young HC that will rebuild this roster. Loomis isn't going for that.

Imagine saying no to a guy who consistently makes the playoffs and has won a Super Bowl in our position

That hire wouldn't bother me at all.

There's a lot to get cleaned up around here though.

That’s how I felt with the Gruden rumors. A Gruden hire would end my Saints fandom.
McCarthy doesn’t excite me but we know what we are getting. The ceiling is low but the floor is high w McCarthy.

I'd be ok with that. He's on par with Shawn Peighton.

I think McCarthy would be a pretty solid hire personally

His all time record:

Sean Payton all time:

Virtually the same...

61% wins, 1 ring. 11x 10+ win seasons with 12 playoff appearances in 17 years.

We could do way worse.

Saints need to get after McCarthy before Chicago and others do.

At least he would know how to navigate things here since Loomis is basically Jerry.

Almost social security age.

Mccarthy, Loomis, and Randy Mueller together again

Quite literally putting the old gang back together from 25 years ago to lead us into the future, and people are excited about this!?!?

Both have 1 Super Bowl Win.
McCarthy is 11-11 in the playoffs.
Tomlin is 8-11 in the playoffs.
McCarthy hasn’t won a Playoff game in 2 years.
Tomlin hasn’t won a playoff game in 8 years.

He’s not far off Tomlin either. 12th and 13th overall in wins for a coach

Never know what he might be capable of without a meddling owner interfering.

Yeah we can do worse. He has a top offense with Dak, and I'm not high on Dak. McCarthy,Always has a top offense.
