If Banks is out for the year, should the Saints sign LT Taylor Decker?

Packers have had injuries along their line. Saints might want to get ahead of them and others and sign Decker if they lose Banks longterm.
Underhill seemed to imply that the Saints fear it’s a fracture and not a sprain. Richard’s was solid but he’s not a year long solution. Decker is by far and away the best FA Tackle on the market which might mean the Saints have to overpay but it might be necessary. You can’t lose the season because you lose Banks

Give him a few tryout games while the new guy gets up to speed. If Richards keeps the job we still need the depth anyway

Yes if Banks is out an extended period offer Decker a per game incentive type of contract. He's been a long time starter but was dealing with injuries most of last year.

Thank god. Sucks we’re going to miss him for 4-6 games but that’s better than the season

Starting a game and coming into a game are obviously different, but our offense kept rolling when he came in.

Fracture is better than sprain. Fracture is 6 weeks to heal. Sprain is a torn ligament, and the degree determines the extent of the tear. These take longer and can cause more issues. Fracture would be better than a high grade sprain, and low grade sprain could be better than a fracture.

Banks was struggling. A couple of penalties, and he was getting beat on multiple plays. The moment he went out is when we saw the run blocking start to open up holes. Pass blocking improved as well, but they were assisting with some RB chipping. That doesn't mean Banks is not the long term answer and better player, but he does appear to be struggling these first two games.

Surgeries for high ankle are typically 3-6 month timetables. It’s not conjecture at all lol

Underhill said best case scenario is 10 weeks. So MAYBE he comes back in time for the last six games.
I wish they would add Decker but I bet they add someone like Cam Robinson as a backup for Richards
