I spend a good bit of time on the SEC/Tiger Rant as well as here. When on the SEC/Tiger Rant, the discussions are direct and hard hitting; its like brothers fighting.

On this board, however, we all come together and pull for the SEC's Redneck Rivera NFL team. Let GA, upper Bama, and SC pull for the Falcons. The Saints are a team for Louisiana, Mississippi, Lower Bama and the Panhandle.

These are heady times. Here's to all the Saints fans who lived through all the 'lean' years, whether you're from NOLA, Baton Rouge, Picayune, Mobile, or Pensacola! We're heading to a third playoff birth!

I'd like to punch the Atl Falcons right in the face, along with every fan of the Falcons, right in the face. Punch with fist.

Tons of bandwagon Saints fans from Bama and Mississippi since they started winning lately.

I assure you that not 1% of them were "die-hard" Saints fans if asked 10 years ago.

i think there are a lot fewer falcons fans in the atl area than most people would imagine...lots of transplants there...when i lived there, they weren't doing too well, and i never met a single person who admitted to being a fan

I know this is true for the braves. They have one of the strongest fan bases in the country but not many of them live in the Atlanta area.

Have relatives from all over Mississippi, go there sometimes, and literally know of no one from the state who has ever been a Titans fan.

Alabama? Yeah, the northern part, sure. But there are an assload of Saints fans in Huntsville and Birmingham, too

I had Rueben Mays and Dome Patrol posters on my bedroom walls.

Louisiana, Mississipi, Alabama = Saints territory, baby.

I have some Tide friends from Mobile who have been die hard Saints fans for 35 years...

Today I sat in a sports bar in Savannah (where I reside) next to two Bama fans from Gulf Shores on vacation. But were decked out appropriately in black and gold as season ticket holders. Had a great time!!

I've always followed pro football more than college even though the my home state of Alabama is all about college football. My first game was the 1989 season opener against the Cowboys, I was seven. Dalton Hilliard had a good game and I think Derrick Shepard returned a punt for a TD. The Dome Patrol made life miserable for Troy Aikman & co.

Edit: I would say the number of true followers in the Mobile area are less than the number of "new" fans who seemed to come out of the woodwork during the 2006 season and the Super Bowl season.

Just left some die hard Saints/Tide fans on Broadway in downtown Nashville. They sucked.
