I agree with the Brees injury part, but in terms of efficacy, that’s the first time I remember it not working.

I like the play.
I just didn’t like it there. Should have let Burton carry it. Or maybe a FB fake and toss to Kamara.

No reason to even pull it back. Once it crosses doesn’t matter what happens to the ball

The pylon cam it clearly crossed the plane. The other angles looked bad but they were either ahead or behind the play. When you're dealing with inches the ONLY one straight down the line is the one that matters. They showed the pylon cam only twice. Once early on and once late and it was a LONG review.

It's muscle memory because it's normally run on third down or less, where a fumble means no field goal.

Yeah that was extremely frustrating to see these asshats not understand perspective. It’s been understood for 500 years....
And the only freeze frame down the line they show at the end was 1 frame less than his full extension. Incredibly maddening just from competence point of view.

Doesn’t matter the down. Once you break the plane it’s a TD. You can fumble after that point and it’s still a TD. Doesn’t make sense to pull the ball back.

Except if you're short, then it's a fumble. Drew pulled it back too early, but on any down other than 4th, leaving it fully extended longer than you have to is begging for a turnover.
