If the Saints don't acquire another quarterback I think they're effectively rolling over for the rest of this season. It's one thing to beat a great team during the regular season with the element of surprise (new qb mid-game). It's a totally different beast to succeed in the playoffs. TS played pretty well but with a week to prepare for him and without the element of surprise, he won't succeed.

It's basically tanking if we don't trade for Foles, sign Rivers or get someone who is mildly proven in the postseason.

It would be a crime to waste this defense.

I'm a Saints fan but you can't honestly believe this guy can win a SB. If our defense wasn't as good as it is I wouldn't want a trade so badly.

So your solution to the success for this season is to bring in a QB that doesn't know the playbook or terminology to just take over the already struggling offense.

I agree with you. Don’t know why you’re getting all the down votes. We have the defense to win it and we’re going to waste it watching TS lead us to a first round loss lol

No no no you misunderstand him.
Go get a QB that takes the team to the Super Bowl. Not those other QB's

Foles hadn’t been successful in the NFL before he took over for an injured Wentz on a talented team and won the Super Bowl. TS is no special talent, but perhaps he has enough experience to win games with this team. It’s not like Winston was lighting it up before his injury.

That's exactly what I'm saying. What Sean can do is severely handicapped if his QB is below average. This isn't that controversial, TS has a body of work that is mediocre/below average.

Someone with more talent could force teams not to just put a nickleback on Kamara and stack the box every play. If theres anything these last couple years have taught me it's that Sean's offense molds to who he has in the room not the other way around

You need to open your eyes as to what happened last game. He literally beat the best QB of all time yesterday and beat the reigning SB champions. He literally was eating a dome dog on the sidelines two minutes before Jameis got hurt. You're either a true Saints fan or you're not.

While corndogs are a big part of the culture and I respect them, TS is just not "that guy" there is no way this bona-fide backup can win us anything real

This has nothing to do with the QB and everything to do with who that QB is throwing to. You could have Mahommes, Brady, Allen... taking snaps with this offense, and defenses would play them exactly the same because no one else on the offense has proven to be a legit threat.

Agree with Sean; however, the point you are missing is he cannot mold an offense around someone that doesn't know the plays. And, you cannot just use plays that person knows because then the rest of the offensive players don't know those plays. Hell, look how sparingly they used Ingram this week. He is only a few years removed from the offense, but obviously Sean only trusted him with a handful of assignments because he had to refamiliarize himself with the plays & timing with the QBs already in house.

You think Nick Foles and a retired Rivers are better options? Really?

Edited to say if you can't "get behind" our current qb then gtfo bandwagoner

Just look at where we are with an erratic Winston hurling it around.

Trevor is no different than Teddy. Both are limited QBs that won't win you a game, but they won't lose it.

For the record... If Trevor is taking the snaps, I am rooting for his success... When he isn't successful.. I am rooting for another QB to come be successful..

for the sake of the team.

I agree with you we need to bring someone else in. Taysom Hill concussion is still a concern to me so having him at qb or any position could be temporary if he takes a big hit. We definitely need to bring a veteran in to learn them system.

Wait, hold on, WHAT???

There are QB's on other teams that are not winning that are superbowl caliber QB's and tradeable??? No wonder those teams are losers, because they clearly do not know what they have.

Now, lets say you find this hidden gem on some losing team, you overpay because your desperate and then, god forbid, Davenport, Jordan, or Davis goes down for the season. Now what? That defense is no longer as powerful and you just gave up a valuable pick and or player for this 2nd or 3rd tier "superbowl" QB.
