I agree with Troy Aikman and Joe Buck on blowing it all up.

Fire the front office and blow up the roster so we can start over.
It’s time to have a garage sale with all of the old antiques that are currently on the roster.
The Packers are the youngest team in the league, and the Saints are one of the oldest. It showed last night.

Which means getting rid of Mickey, and get new front office ideas

He’s obviously not familiar with our current mom and pop like setup.

That's not going to happen.
IMHO, Loomis and Lauscha practically own the franchise, so great is their influence with the Owner. They are Mrs. Benson's "warm blanket". IMHO she will sell the team before she parts with what makes her comfy.
Saints fans need to realize that, except for a relatively brief Era of Payton and Brees, this NFL franchise has been one of the most losing pro sports franchises in US history. This franchise will IMHO return to its norm, which is being a team that wins 3, 5 or 8 games a season. That is the norm. This is who and what the NOLA Saints franchise really is.
Let it Be, as The Beatles say. Just accept reality.
Why struggle emotionally over what must be and what you cannot change? It is an exercise in futility.

This excuse doesn’t fly anymore. There are plenty of “winning franchises “ on hard times and vice versa. Just gotta be smart with roster building and culture.

culture.
Knowing Goodell he's going to start implementing the blackouts again just as spite to Saints fans since nobody is going to waste their money watching another decade of terrible football.

Huge problem, definitely starts at the top.

I mean I guess with them saying that it did do some good.
If any of the other casual fans were still watching the game and weren't already that informed at how behind we were, perhaps they got more insight with those comments.
It may or may not put more pressure on Loomis. But anytime you pretty much get called out like that on national TV. That's egg in the face. I don't care who you are.

The Payton-Brees Era fell into the lap of this franchise. This franchise has never been "smart with roster building and culture". That has never happened with this franchise.
The first time I see it happen will be the time when I believe that can happen.

I don’t think it just fell in our lap, but that is a conversation for another time. Currently I am hoping the Saints distance themselves from anything Brees/Payton related and find a completely new identity.
Definitely don’t want to be like the Cowboys, floundering 30 years later after the Aikman era ended.

frick off. You’re such a troll and horrible poster.
This is a relevant topic to our current situation, and it’s worth discussing on an online sports forum. That’s exactly what these forums are for.

We’re the #31 market. We can’t bitch about the owner that much, we’re lucky to have a team.
Would we rather have no team?

Explain what you think is stupid about my thoughts.

The saints were competitive in the late 80’s early 90’s. Unfortunately we were in the same division as the San Fran dynasty era. shite on Mecom as an owner all you want.

I get the sentiment here, but the Saints as a whole under Tom Benson's ownership from 1985 to 2018 weren't one of the worst franchises. Pre-Tom Benson and since he died has been another story. You want to see modern day ineptitude, look at the Cleveland Browns since they returned ~1999. I do agree that the Payton/Brees era may have been due to some luck, but Tom didn't let the team languish for years with blatant roster mismanagement and poor coaching like the current owner.

Until this organization starts spending current years money to free up future year money, there will be no rebuild.
We have to get off these terrible contracts. It’s going to take a dedicated effort and time for that to happen. And everyone will need to expect to lose while this happens.
2-3 years.
