Prepare to lose in gut wrenching fashion. Can almost guarantee the officiating will be unfathomably bad.

This

If anything, assuming a Left Coast bias, you'd want the Rams to lose Sunday setting up the big redemption game against the Saints in the playoffs

ESPN has been going all in on this game, and it seems like a lot of media love for the Saints lately. I see this being an evenly called game, as the league wants to show it still has “it”.

I would tend to think that in a nationally televised contest between what is probably the 2 best NFC teams with all the hype that comes along with these 2 offenses and all the recent scrutiny of the officiating along with the recent firing that the crew would tend to be on their toes.
The league has everything to lose and nothing to gain by anymore bad officiating.

The Saints can't control the officiating but they can avoid mistakes and turnovers and have a better than even chance of winning, maybe in gut wrenching fashion.

Surprised you don't see why the NFL would. They're currently trying to fully establish a loyal (money spending) fan base in LA. Easiest way to establish this type of fan base is to consistently win or win big (playoff wins, championships etc.). LA being a top 3 market in the country with money to spend/expensive NFL stadium complex being built, its not hard to see the writing on the wall and the NFL wanting to make sure (at least) the Rams work in LA. Really the only reason I see the NFL "rigging" this game.

Yet I don't think that happens this weekend. Think the saints have a "09 patriots" like game against the Rams.

Because I dont know if you dimwits have noticed but teams in new markets or who build new stadiums are always at least given an AFC/NFC Championship appearance if not a SB. No one has noticed that? Goes all the way back to the Jacksonville/Carolina expansions. It may have occurred before but that was the first time I noticed it and everytime after that it was clockwork.

The problem for the NFL is the whole Brees/records narrative that they will want to play but they may save it for next year and give him a consolation prize of his first, tragically late league MVP.

Here, yall bookmark this:

If Saints dont appear in the NFC Champ game or SB, Brees gets the MVP. If Saints DO, then Mahommes(or whoever else) gets the MVP.

Here let me help you.

2014 Atlanta breaks ground on a new stadium.
2017, August, Failclowns play first game in new stadium.
2017 Atalanta plays in SB
They had only made the SB once before in their 53 year history.

2014 Minneapolis breaks ground on new stadium.
2015 Vikings inexplicably go 11-5 after going 7-9 and 5-10-1 in the previous 2 seasons. Last time they made the playoffs before 2015? 2012. Just so happened to be the year the Gov. of Minnesota announced an agreement to build a new stadium.

2010 ballot measure in City of Santa Clara passes to build new stadium for 49ers.
2011 49ers go 13-3 and to the NFC championship game for the first time in 14 years.
2012, Feb., financing is secured for new stadium.
49ers go to SB. First time in 18 years.
2013 construction started. 49ers go 12-4 NFC Champ. appearance.
2014. New stadium finished. See ya, bitch.
49ers go 8-8, 5-11, 2-14, 6-10. Cant make this shite up.
Prior to this 3 year string of working out this highly contested stadium deal, the 49ers had gone a combined 46-82(0.36%) the previous 8 seasons.

2007 MetLife Stadium broke ground for the NY(HQ of the NFL) Giants.
2007 They win the SB.
2010 stadium is finished.
2011, congratulations. You get another SB!

2006 construction on Jerrys World begins.
2007 Americas Most Obnoxious Team wins 13 games for the first time since 1992. Previous 2 seasons they were 9-7.
2009 Jerrys Latelife Crisis opens and Cowgirls reel off an 11-5 record. Something they had only achieved 1 time in the prior 13 years. That being the year after stadium construction began. They then went 6-10 and 8-8 for the next 4 years.

2005, Sept. broke ground on Colts new stadium.
2006 Won SB. It was 1970 and they were called the Baltimore Colts the last time that had happened.
2008 stadium opened.
2009 back to SB.

2006 Cardinals new stadium opens. Season after next theyre in the SB. This is one of the worst franchises in NFL history. They were only there twice before and that was in 1947/48 and it wasnt even called the SB. And there were only 10 teams in the league.
Theyve only made the playoffs 10 times. Theyve been a franchise since 1920.

Im tired so Ill stop here but since you responded to a post where I had made mention of my first woke AF NFL experience I feel compelled to expound on the expansion Jags and Panthers.

The Jacksonville Jaguars came into the league in 1995 and started out with a 4-12 record. They then went 9-7 and the AFC Champ game, 11-5, 11-5 and 14-2 and to the Champ. game again. The next 5 seasons they won 7, 6, 6, 5 and 9 games before returning to the playoffs the following year.

The Carolina Panthers entered the league in 1995 as well(both broke the record for most wins by an expansion team) and went 7-9. The very next year they went to the NFC Championship game. In their 2nd year in existence.
It took the Saints 21 years just to get to the playoffs, 34 years to win one and 40 to see an NFC Championship game.

2 years?!
