Plenty LSU fans in this thread not hating on Ingram. Just calling him what he is, average back, good value.

I guess we can trust NFL GMs. They have pegged his market value at below average for starting NFL RBs. I don't see anyone banging down our door for his services.

We don't run enough, nor is our run blocking good enough to dump on Ingram. He has proven in the past if he get's any daylight he can run. That said, I like Lasco. I think he can be our featured back.

I think if you put him on a team with a better Oline or even a team that's more balanced or run oriented, he'd be a top 10 back. Just my opinion but he was doomed in his NFL career the day he was drafted by a team that uses Brees 50 times a game.

Also, he's been in the league, what, 5 or 6 years now? No, no one is going to trade a 1st or 2nd rd pick for a RB. Hell, most rookie RBs aren't even drafted in the 1st or 2nd round anymore so how's that Ingram's fault?

I like him in pass protection. He's a part of the pass protection scheme and anything that keeps Brees up is okay in my book. I sure wouldn't want Cadet back there.

We signed him before free agency hit. He gave us a discount, guarantee he makes more than this if he actually hit the market.

Average back, good value.

I could agree with this. Ingram's biggest asset is dependability. He averaged 4.6 yds./pc last year.
50 receptions and an above avg. pass blocker.
BTW, In 6 seasons 818 rush/att. 1 lost fumble.
Good hands. Avg.speed. NO ARRESTS. I'll take it.

that is the most important part. Sproles and last year of PT almost got Brees killed multiple times.

I think the Saints should cut/trade Ingram just so the posters that make all of these threads can start new threads with how the FO screwed up by letting him go bc he had a 100yd game and/or scored a TD. Bc those threads also do not get old or redundant at all.

Currently is 24th in yards per game at 54.4 ypg. If he were to get an extra 5 carries a game, at 3.9 yards per carry (2016 average), he would jump up to 9th in yards per game with 73.9 ypg.

I know it doesn't quite translate that way, but you cannot dispute that if he wasn't limited to 14 carries a game he would not have better totals and would be ranked higher on the list.

Have an upvote sir for some sound logic and stats. Even if you downgrade that YPC some, he'd still be top 15 or so unquestionably.

Why the guy is hated so much is confusing to me, outside of the LSU bias. It's the only thing that makes sense.

His first year and a half were bad. Add the bamer effect and the lack of dedication for a lot of reasons in the run game by CSP and you have your answer.

Ingram's isn't sexy but he's a solid pro and good citizen that fills a lot of needs at a minimal salary cap burden. To upgrade from him would cost a great deal of money for an offense that already somewhat minimizes the tailbacks role. His ability as a blocker and reciever are particularly valuable for the Saints

I dont know why people complain about us using the 1st round pick from the year after we drafted him to trade up and grab him.

The only reason that Goodell took away 2 2nd round picks from us was because we did not have a 1st round pick that year.

He very well could have taken away 2 1st round picks if we had that pick then we would have missed out on out 1st roumder the following year as well. IMO not having that pick actually helped us.

What an absolutely retarded OP. Ingram is fine. We don't use the guy nearly enough. He blocks well, he knows the offense and he's pretty cheap. Get over your Bama hating bullshite

meh..... That is a stretch. But your point stands on its own merits without this. He is good value, and he is dependable.

You think there are 15 starting running backs who are better than Ingram in this league?

I would have a really hard time making that list.
