It’s no secret Payton gets vocal on the sidelines sometimes but based on what Peters said I think it may be more than we think

Is he talking shite every game or just to certain guys to get in their head?

Edit: Peters said Payton was talking on the sideline.

I mean he’s definitely the more out there coach, he’s the guy you hate against but like if he’s yours. The choke sign against Falcons comes to mind.

Payton doesn't shy away from saying what's on his mind, but the comments about Peters wasn't "talking shite". Coaches talk about matchups they like and want to exploit all the time. It's just because Peters was "supposed to be" an elite corner for the Rams that he/they feel disrespected by the idea that we were targeting their best corner as a favorable match-up

I doubt there's many, if any, weeks that SP doesn't like the match up between MT and the opposing teams corner back(s).

Especially with no safety help. Peters just needs to learn the game if he does not understand that any coach would love that matchup.

Not sure what's wrong with what Payton said. Lattimore looked silly trying to run with Mike Evans all game with no help. If you have an elite WR, even going against a really good CB, you are gonna like the matchup for the offensive side if there isn't any help. Even though at times Lattimore might go one on one against an Evans or Julio, you can't do it all game, especially if the other team has a good QB like Matt Ryan. This wan't a knock on MP by Payton, but they left his arse on an island all game long. There was a gif I saw somewhere where MT shook MP out of his shoes and would have been a TD but Brees didn't see it and went the other way, it just ain't fair.

Payton said he liked the matchup. I’ve heard him say that 100 times regarding touchdowns. The reporter was looking for a story and Peters ate it up.

This. Peters is a baby back bitch. Payton was speaking on the matchup and the defensive alignment with not safety help. Kid needs to be humbled and shut up and get better. He's just drawing negative attention to himself and his team by crying and calling out the opposing head coach. What he needs to do is borrow MT13s flip phone and call for backup the next time they face us.

Payton has definitely gotten some swag back. I remember he and Steve Smith use to jaw at each other quite a bit. Hell even when Shockey went to Panthers they'd talk shite during the game at each other.

He had a few choice words for Dirk Koetter after Mike Evans blindsided Lattimore last year. He looked like he wanted to fight him.

Also, I don't think CSP was talking trash about Peters. He was just giving an honest answer to a question. Peters is easily irritated b/c he's gone from a Pro Bowler to the weak link of the defense.

Nothing.
If Peters doesn't want people to point out that Thomas played well across from him, he needs to stop it on the field.

No one cares how big you talk.

Speaking as a Falcons fan he seems to do something every game that is not in your run of the mill coaching antics...

I think it is just part of the emotion of the game.

i will say that next time if the Rams get a shot at the Saints this will be part of their pregame prep and will try to take up for their boy.
