How good can Juwan Johnson be?

7 TDs on the year with 3 games left (and he missed a game).
He’s getting better every year and tight end is one of the more difficult positions to learn. The broadcast yesterday even highlighted a couple of fantastic blocks he made in the run game.
I don’t obviously think the guy will ever be in Kelce, but he’s similar to Kelce in that his career path to tight end (Kelce didn’t start playing tight end until later in his college career) and ability to make plays after the catch.
His ceiling may not be Kelce, Andrews or Kittle. But is his ceiling potentially that next class of tight end like Goedert, Waller, Schultz?

Not only that but wasn’t he a receiver in college. Figured it would take a few years to learn the nuances of learning the te position.
Fun fact most people don’t know, his brother was on the team a few years ago.

It's actually funny, because IMO he kinda reminds me of him too
Kelce really plays WR if we're being honest. Yeah he's a pretty good blocker and he plays inline on run plays sometimes, but that's mostly for disguise reasons. The guy runs a ton of WR routes.
Kelce is doing the thing Jimmy Graham was too dumb to do. Kelce, if moved to WR, wouldn't even be in the stratosphere of top 10 all time, but as a "tight end" he's going to end up on the Mount Rushmore just because he's playing out of position
Anyway
I think Johnson really needs a good QB he can build rapport with for us to see what his ceiling is. But I like what we're seeing so far

Juwan Johnson has potential to be a 600-800 yard, 6-10 TD per year type of tight end.
I don't think his route running is refined enough to be a top 3 TE in the league like Andrews, Kittle, or Kelce. but that tier 2 type of guy is not out of reach. You just need a QB who can actually make those difficult throws and progression to get him the ball

Yeah, he was a receiver at penn st.
He was my pick out of all the udfa s a couple yrs ago to make the biggest impact.
He has really blossomed into a true nfl guy.

yeah I think it is seasons like these where you find out a lot more about players and Johnson has earned his keep.
Trautman gets hurt and even when he plays, he's mostly quiet.
Part of it is that our WR's aren't good besides Olave and Shaheed. I was dead wrong on Callaway. He sure vanished. Landry got hurt but unfortunately since he's come back it just hasn't worked out like we hoped.
the other part though, you just have to credit where credit is due. He's made the most of his opportunity. I'm not sure how he'll do going forward because every season is different. But the steps he's taken this season were huge. Can he exceed expectations next year? I hope so.

I remember when we tried Brandon Coleman and man I was excited for him bc it seemed like he had potential. Same thing with Stanley Jean Baptiste.

Ladarius Green/Evan Engram type guy. Useful with a decent QB and a full compliment of WRs
