How bad will this train wreck be?

So we all know that since Drew's and Payton's departure, things have dropped off significantly. So from a team that was competing for 1st place, if not every season taking the NFC South, to a team that could be looking at a multiple set of losing seasons, what can we expect?

We have no QB, and no draft/trade capital, we have cap-situation hell, no HC, Cam, Davis, Matthieu, Landry,Ingram are past their prime.......Davenport, Turner, have just crashed and burned or are always hurt, and if a few guys retire and/or get traded/released, how bad can we get?

After last night, I can see the wheels completely falling off. The WR's aren't going to try, AK will probably be "hurt" and these players are all going to mail it in so hard, I can see total blowouts.

I can't wait to see the injury report. It's going to be the only funny thing about any of this.

We need to tear it down and restart immediately. Yes, it will suck. But the sooner we begin the sooner we will get back to the glory days. Also, all it takes is one great qb.

I don’t think that’s true. We need Loomis to take a senior advisory role and let Ireland be the GM. We need a new medical staff. We need new coaches across the board who will encourage competition and accountability.

We have decent scouts, we just need to stop going after high risk (injury prone) players. We have some good players and good leaders (Cam, Davis, Ram, McCoy, Olave, Taylor, Werner, etc.) We need to build on all that.

Who knows how much longer they will be around. Will probably be among the first casualties of a rebuild

You really need a Brian Kelly-style tear down where coaches, medical, front-office, strength and conditioning, even the support staff need to go. Hire a strong head coach who has the power to hire a personnel guy who makes him comfortable, let them hire the coaches and staff and go from there.

Instead, when Allen goes, we’ll get a weak head coach beholden to Loomis who couldn’t get a head coaching job anywhere else and it will be the same stuff.

Had the Saints not lucked into Brees, the last 15 years or so would look like the other 40 years of this franchise.

It's pretty simplistic for me. What are the priorities of ownership? Does Mrs. Benson actually want to field a winner, or is she content with just cashing a check?

This franchise is more than salvageable if you cut ties with Allen and his staff, and bring in some competent coaches.

Not saying the roster doesn't have it's issues, but it's far from being as bad as 4-9.

I understand why people want to tear it all down. But, the defense is one of the best in the NFL. The coaching staff needs a complete overhaul, and we need a QB. This team is a playoff team with a different head coach. Add a good QB and we're competing for a Super Bowl.

The problem is by the time we get a good QB, the good defensive players will be gone, our star offensive players will be overpaid and long in the tooth.

I think it'll be awhile before we ever see a consistent winner on the field.

Look at the contracts for Thomas, Kamara, Ramczyk, etc. Cam will be gone and/or past his prime, Davis also. Davenport and Turner are looking like busts. This team has major issues down the road. If Loomis keeps kicking the can, it'll be decades before a good team can be assembled.

Hopefully. Really bend over and take it so we can fire Dennis Allen.

It’s gonna be a rough couple of years at absolute minimum. We will not be a winner again until and unless we have a true franchise QB and a dynamic head coach. Could take a year or two even once we have them…although, look at Brees/Payton in year 1.

Realistically, it’ll be 2025 season before we even have a shot at competing for anything meaningful. That’s only if the FO manages this effectively.

If the Saints had a compitent HC who brought attention to
detail ,discipline and accountability to the table the record would be 8-4 not the oppisite.Saints have lost alot
of close games this season. The talent is there except at QB
The D has played lights out the last few games.
Get a good HC and the Saints will be in the playoff hunt
next season.
