Mathieu and PRob do different things. I think Mathieu is best utilized as a wild card defender when he can blitz, cover, disguise his intentions, etc. all in order to cause havoc and chaos. I don’t think the Saints have that type of defender on the roster.
Additionally, a majority of NFL teams go 3/4 wides, so it’s not out of the question to play a small Nickel with HB acting as a small OLB that covers/blitzes.
