The Saints are a private organisation. The Saints play in a State Owned Facility. How does a Mayor have power to stop the Saints from allowing fans in the Dome if You can go up to a State University and put fans in the seats why is a Mayor telling the State what it can do?
Very Curious

The state’s governor is a Democrat cuckold who isn’t gonna force the issue in Democratic New Orleans.

Holding out for federal dollars…

Because New Orleans is a Banana Republic.

This has been discussed in other threads, but these games do not happen in a vacuum. There is hundreds of support staff that are city employees needed to put on a game and provide traffic flow and other services.
This is the part that cannot be managed by the state or others.

Unfortunately the state owned building resides in the city that she runs. If she says no crowds in New Orleans, then there will be no crowds.
I think the Saints made a mistake going public with the talks with LSU, it made the destroya realize that they have no real options so she can do whatever she wants. They postured with the Tiger Stadium talk to try and pressure her into allowing fans but she called the bluff. As we heard in recent days, LSU seems unwilling to host them on weekends that LSU also has home games. With the way the schedules stack up, that means they wouldn't be able to play in BR for a pretty long while.
Its sad that she is being a detriment to the city but there isn't much the Saints can do.

The governor could solve this if he wanted to. He just does not want to. I haven't heard a word out of him about this. I would at least like to hear him answer the question.

The state owns the facility but the facility is in New Orleans.
The mayor (allegedly) has the power to make these orders at a City Level.
I don’t get why this is confusing s

Our governor and the idiot in New Orleans are birds of a feather . Did not she promise nothing would open before the election ? It doesn't matter to either one of them. They are willing to stop ANYTHING for political purposes , even if it causes our state & nation to go down the shitter. Every day more businesses close. It is a damned SHAME.

The city fire department has the authority, inside city limits, to set capacity levels. This is a power granted from the state to the city in the city's home rule charter.
The mayor appoints the fire chief.
Now do you get it?
Not to mention, a number of city police and fire work these games. Because these are all city employees, and their bosses are appointed by the mayor, she can basically tell them what to do.
If you own a building, and the city rescinds your occupancy license, you can't hold events in your building, doesn't matter that you "own" it.

The only industry the current governor of Louisiana has brought to the state is the industry of federal relief.
This is his mindset. Louisiana could have elected David Vitter and instead you chose this fool. Elections have consequences.
