Haven't Listened To WWL Saints Coverage In Years

Do they still have the same cast of characters, such as Bobby, Deke, and the dude from the Marines? Does their pre and post game stuff still suck? I know that Strief is back with the organization, but is Deuce still the play by play analyst?

No Deke. Other than that it is the same cast of goofballs with 50% show and 50% commercials. Mike Detillier does know his stuff though.

It’s really bad. And the commercials are even worse.

Bobby is such a bad radio host as far as cutting off guests and other hosts goes.
He also has some long rambling stories. Some are pretty funny.

I listen to them a good bit. It’s fairly entertaining
People just love to hate TV announcers and radio guys. I don’t really get it

For a flag station of an NFL team, WWL radio sports talk hosts have been PATHETIC for years! Honestly, all of the talk show hosts, especially the Scoot entity, are horrible!

Bobby Hebert is pretty good at his role, but is long winded. Sometimes tells good stories. Mike Detillier is informative and was a good addition. I wonder how Garic has this job. Not very good at all. WWL should pursue Charles Hannigraff to run their sports department. Would be a big upgrade.

If you listen to the station for a few hours you will hear the same newscast about 10 times. I consider the traffic reports a big waste of time even when I am heading towards traffic.

Bobby has entertainment value. I don't listen to him much for insight - he's hit and miss.
Deuce is okay. Absolutely no tone to his voice. I could fall asleep when he's talking. Same with Strief, really. Both know their stuff but are just hard to keep focused on.
Hoss is kind rough, too. I liked him on the news, but this just doesn't work.
Mike D is almost always pretty good. He does his homework.
Garic is a complete pecker. The worst part is he truly thinks he's an expert and is willing to argue about it, while knowing nothing.

Mike Detillier has done well since they added him to the regular lineup particularly when he is paired with Bobby.
Speaking of Bobby, several years ago I went to a company year end meeting and had the opportunity to meet and talk to Joe Montana a couple of years after he retired. A coworker and I shot the shite with him for 3 or 4 minutes and the conversation immediately went to the Saints and Hebert. He was very complimentary of Bobby and talked about his ability to read a defense and how Bobby could take some brutal hits.
He was not so complimentary of Carl Smith
BTW Joe was already kind of limping around with some arthritis issues in a knee.

Garic makes the show unlistenable. He’s getting more snappy this year. He doesn’t know football and jumps in ready to argue with every single caller. No one cares about his opinion.
