Has this video of Payton trashing New Orleans been discussed?

Sounds like Payton doesn't like the area deep down.

He was building a narrative of how hard it was when he got there, nothing wrong with that especially when everything he said is 100% true. Doesn't mean he still believes it or anything. This is a year old, it was posted back then. Post the other 10 clips or are we just trying to stir a pot during a 6 game win streak?

A rich man didn’t want to send his kids to school in Nola!? Shocking.

I don't even have to watch the video, because I have seen it quite a few times.

This was actually awesome perspective.

He was being honest about the organization.

He actually said wonderful things about the city itself.. he said how unique it is and the players are much more approachable here.

Yeah, he's posting it as if it makes Sean look bad.

It actually is a great interview. I love how authentic he is.

He wanted the Green Bay job which is understandable at the time and given his roots.

He had never been denied a job opening he applied for before.

I don’t care what happens the rest of his career, SP is a goddamn legend. It’s easy to forget about the circumstances that surrounded his hiring but that interview reminded me how special that time was. Thank you for that even though I know your intention was to troll.

He didn’t say anything in that interview that wasn’t in his book 10 years ago.

Besinger is a hell of interviewer though.

I mean in 2006 when he got here the city was still literally trashed from Katrina so it was just how things were. Unless you're too young to remember, it was a rough time.

I still love the story of him getting lost in the way to the airport while showing Drew Brees around while they were trying to sign him.

Stuff of legend.

New Orleans is my favorite city in the world, and I cried when I left despite having no family there, but I don't want to live there again unless it's in a gated mansion for maybe 4 months a year.

Dude, if you open your listening ears you'll hear that he was talking about his initial impressions of New Orleans 14 years ago, and the challenges he faced trying to assemble the initial coaching staff.

Go find the press conference he gave a few years ago where he said how much he loved New ORleans and that it is a place that is different and puts its hooks into you and you don't want to leave.

After you've done that, stop stirring a Shite pot and go back to work.

Truth hurts. New Orleans is a shithole. Deal with it. I wouldn't send my kids to school there either. There's a couple nice places to live in SE LA but New Orleans and Baton Rouge isn't one of them.
