I guess we should build a statue for Matt Mauck while we are at it.

I’m all for it, but I know you know the ocean between these two players

Guy played 2 years for a team as opposed to 15… and to think the lsu natty was bigger than the Saints Super Bowl, for the state and Gulf Region is borderline retardation.

Bigger and more meaningful at the time? No shite, it’s the Super Bowl run.

However, that’s not what the question was nor the reality based on the answer to it. Most Louisiana natives around my age (30) heard their grandparents talk about Billy Cannon as if that guy walked on water. I always thought it to be hyperbole.

Now I get it, and I’m sure my kids/grandchildren will hear about Burrow the same way.

EDIT: if y’all can’t tell by the reaction of people around you, then I can’t help ya.

Yes. I do. People I know like Joe Burrow way more than they like Brees. You can thank the media and some of Drew’s former teammates for that, but it’s true.

Make sure you tell them he once led the Fighting Tigers to a 29-0 defeat, at home, to Alabama.

Talk about walking on water.

Yeah you’re an LSU fan.. I could argue that there are all kinds of different college sports team fans in the state of Louisiana. Obviously majority pull for LSU. But lots of people pull for
Other college teams. I’d say nearly the entire state outside of Shreveport are saints fan.. majority of the state of
Ms are saints fan.. and they’re not Lsu fans. So I don’t believe it’s more important and I don’t think it’s close… Saints Super Bowl all day!

Sure will. Just as my grandfather told me constantly that Cannon’s punt return was not a part of the national championship run, nor was it his most impressive play in that game when it occurred (the goal line stand).

Your highest and your lowest will not define who you are, but it’s what you do in between that makes the difference.

Thanks for the reminder. RIP, Papa.

I love Joe, but man some people are taking this shite a little too far. I saw some girl I’m friends with on Facebook talking about how she was in tears because “her” Bengals are going to the Super Bowl. I’m like cmon now frickin chill
