The only people in Louisiana who would put Burrow over Shaq are white.
Wow that didn’t take long. Halfway down the first page. Impressive!

Brees squandered a great deal of admiration nationwide when he paid homage to a rapist.

Sounds familiar

"Would it be possible for the Saints to draft the entire LSU football team?"
-This forum

Because if we can make that happen, the Saints can lose a nail-biter to Arkansas.

Yes, Brees lost his love once he turned into a cuck his last few years. Cost us championships and he turned into a bitch who didn't stick to what he really believed in.

Uh, no. I love Joe, but he played in Louisiana for 2 years. He accomplished, as a team, the same as Matt Mauck and Matt Flynn.

Drew played 16 years in Louisiana and accomplished what NO ONE has even remotely came close to accomplishing.

It’s Drew and it’ll always be Drew.

Joe is fun to follow, tho.

Yes. I do. People I know like Joe Burrow way more than they like Brees. You can thank the media and some of Drew’s former teammates for that, but it’s true.

yea a lot of people were pissed when drew wore the rapists name on his helmet and coward from his beliefs. He’s a bitch

Make sure you tell them he once led the Fighting Tigers to a 29-0 defeat, at home, to Alabama.

I sure will and then I’ll finish the story and tell them about how he went to Tuscaloosa the next year and whipped their arse in route to a NC.

If you think that Burrow wouldn’t kneel of the league was still doing that then you are incredibly dumb.

Everyone loves Shaq. Everyone. But he brought zero national titles here.

This isn’t an argument for burrow being more impactful that Brees.

As a fan of both, I will say this. Burrow walked into a team with a cupboard full of talent fresh off of a couple nattys and another appearance.

Bree’s literally shaped a program that’s never won a division championship game, into a team that’s won a super bowl and was a legit contender most years. It was more rare for Brees to not get us into the playoffs.

As an aside, I remember Nagin at the Super Bowl parade toasting Drew Brees when Brees' float arrived, and said, "Move over, Archie Manning (or was it Peyton???), New Orleans has a new son!"

Pretty much a back-handed slap to the Mannings who call NOLA home, did nothing to deserve the slight & were just as excited the Saints won.

And yet, Brees soaked in all the praise. Kinda coming back around.

Idk. I am too young for Archie and all his sons leave the state the first chance they get....never to return. I dont have this affinity for the Mannings like that.

This is the epitome of what have you done for me lately?
Brees came in a time when morale was low and gave us hope and something to look to after Katrina wrecked much of the state. Then went on to be one of the best QBs in the history of the league and being the saints not only out of the cellar but to a super bowl win! Many people forgot the feeling after Katrina and when’s Brees got here.

Burrow - did much of the same from a football standpoint for LSU beating Alabama when it was starting to feel like they couldn’t anymore. Brought lsu to prominence again and created a following to the league.

But I will never forget what brees did for the state at the time. Burrow has a long way to go still.

You haven’t been out of the state much to other games. Your perception of that I would say is because of the shear numbers you were surrounded with. The cockiest I ever encountered was West Virginia (had a beer poured in my head while I was on the field), then Texas A&M at the cotton bowl. Oregon right behind them. But even that is splitting hairs because every fan base has bad apples. But every fan base is really about the same honestly. Like to trash talk in fun, cheer on their team, then congratulate the other team win or lose.
